Happy Saturday to you Karla!
As it turns out...I actually have to get up early in the morning to finish moving my household from austin to houston ... Can't say I'm looking forward to moving in 100+ degrees. Clearly as I am up...I guess I failed at going to bed early...would have been nice to sleep some...but...that's life.
As for plans for today...I think I will go find an ice cream sandwich

I am not a happy camper when I have to get up early. YUK. I have gotten up early for hunting and/or fishing trips. And a few times for vacation trips. Hubby used to love to leave in the wee small hours of the morning. Now it is for trip to VA hops. for his appts. Night Owl all the way.

Im up early every day of my life anyway, usually between 5 and 6. Some mornings where I have to be at work at 6, Im up at 4:30. That gives me an hour to get ready, have my coffee, and cruise a couple of my regular forums.
Ive been known to be up as early as 2am sometimes when there was a flight to catch to or from OK, Ind, WI or Chicago. No problem, as long as there's coffee.

Last time I was up early was to take my friend to a dr's appointment. Sigh..I barely remember the drive!
I am by nature a night owl and do not fare well for early rising. It seems I really hit my stride around 9:00 p.m. and usually by then, dh is in bed and I am left to visit the forum for company.

I used to be an early bird but changed into a night owl after darling daughter came along. Late night was the only "me" time I could find. I'm one of those disgusting individuals that is cheery whether staying up late or getting up early. O:dark:30 is lots of fun if I'm doing something out of the ordinary!
I usually don't get up extremely early unless I'm traveling. About a month ago, hubby had to be at work at 2:00 a.m., so the night owl in me opted to stay up until after I'd taken him in. Although I'm often up at that time, I'm never running around town unless I take the dogs for a walk to the river before going to bed. (Remember, Alaska is the land of the midnight sun!) It was rather interesting to see the events that were taking place elsewhere at that time of morning. As long as I was out and about, I decided to drive around for a little while in hopes of seeing some of Alaska's famous wildlife. I was skunked!!!

The last thing I had to get up really early for, besides work, was to get my daughter up for school on the last day, June 18th. She gets up un-Godly early.
I am happy that early as long as there is COFFEE, lotsa coffee.

Lab work. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight and get to the clinic as soon after waking as possible - me before coffee is a scary sight. To bed earlier? Certainly not, the last drop of water I can drink is consumed only a second or two before midnight - then straight to bed.

We get up before 6 A. M. every Sunday morning to go to early church. We don't have to do that tomorrow, because Mr. VA is on vacation.
I normally am a sleepy head and have to be pulled out of bed, but when my son was in the Navy and we were going to his graduation in San Diego we traveled by car all across the United States and I got Mr. VA up at the crack of dawn every morning. I think I wanted to travel while the sun was shinning or I wanted to get where my son was one. I was just too excited to sleep.
For me sleep comes and goes as I need it. I can sleep anywhere or anytime. I have to get a good night's sleep before driving by myself, so no alarm clocks when I am doing that. Otherwise, Mr. VA drives the first part of the trip and I sleep. I drive the next portion and he reads the newspaper (He can't stand to watch the road when I drive.) We eat at about 4 P. M. and then he drives and I sleep. Any driving after midnight is my turn. From midnight until 2 A. M. I am wide awake. After 2 A. M. I wake him back up and we open the windows, turn the radio on loud and talk to each other until we get to our location.
I once caught myself going to sleep while driving by myself. I started slapping myself in the face until I got to a location where I could rest. You can't go to sleep slapping youself in the face.

That reminds me of the Disney commercial, NCN, where the little kid says in this great little kid voice, "I'm too excited to sleep." And he has a great big grin on his face. I say that every so often. DH just rolls his eyes.
Anyway, yep. 2 weeks ago, coming home from NY, we got up at 2 to take me to the airport. Boy, did I sleep that night! Whenever DH and I are traveling by car, we usually get on the road around 3 or 4 to beat traffic and daylight heat.
Like aksarben, I'm up early for bathroom breaks!
