I think it looks pretty cute! But, you might want to wash your face. Seriously, though, it would be good to see the whole picture-but not looking mad. Aren't you getting used to it at all?

I'm sorry, mrshvo, but I laughed when I first read your post as the following thought flitted through my mind: Teachers are supposed to be fat and ugly, with bad haircuts. It's what the kids expect! (Please don't bash me too hard! I know that's not true, and you truly are beautiful. Repeat what nitram said over and over until you believe it!)
Now, on the more practical side . . .
Many, many, many moons ago, I had a haircut very similar to your new look but much shorter. I thought it was hideous (on me, not you!). A very kind, older woman asked me if I had a curling iron. I'd never heard of one back then, but it became my new best friend! Although it's not your usual look, and it's not what you wanted, perhaps a few curls would soften the style and be more attractive until your hair grows out.
Look on the bright side. Maybe your friends will stop calling you Barbie!

I looked at your hair again and again thinking how soft and shiny! You must take a handful of vitamins for your hair?
I also just love the multi-colored frost ... wow! Change the look by using moose or gel. Within two weeks you will see new growth especially in the summer time.

Well, I couldn't wash it until Saturday because she put highlights in the red and I was told not to wash it for 2 days. That picture if of her straightening and styling it.
I washed it on Saturday...and no, i still hate it. I might get used to the bangs with my hair in either a ponytail, or 1/2 up 1/2 down, or in pigtails, or maybe in a similar style to the first picture....but down....I am going to try with a curling iron but now I have to buy that ( I have a straightening iron), perhaps curling up the ends....but no, I haven't gotten used to it and I do still hate it.
But thank you everyone for your positive comments. I understand I am not "fat". However, I hope you can understand for me...I am about 12 pounds more than I usually weigh and 15 from my goal weight. No, it isn't fat by normal standards. Heck, it might even be normal weight. If you never knew me and saw me you would not think I am fat. But....if you did know me, 12 pounds is a huge difference. It is obvious. It is also obvious when I put on the clothes from 12 pounds ago...and the jeans are too tight...and I can see what looks like rolls in the back of my shirts! When my skirts, which are supposed to be looser than jeans, are tight....then I know that I have to lose the weight. It's either buy new clothes or lose the weight I so irresponsibly put on and I am too broke to buy new clothes, plus that would make me feel like I gave up.

Dear mrshvo, welcome to the club! I think all of us have felt exactly the same way. I know last summer it was me.
Here's my hair story: I went into a very chic salon after calling around town to ask about consultations for long, curly hair which is usually flat ironed because I don't like it curly and wild looking. This particular salon claimed to have a hair genius who could give me a new, updated look that worked with my curl, but wouldn't overdo it. I met with him and told him I wanted to keep it long enough to put in a ponytail, it needed to look professional, and if possible be a fast and easy style. He talked a great game, said he understood perfectly, so I let him work on me. When he was finished my hair was I looked like Carrot Top, the comedian, and had lost 8 inches of hair and I couldn't even get it in a ponytail. I hated it and there was no way I was going back to school like that! I cried and called around and made an appointment at another salon to get it fixed up. The stylist there was cracking up as I told my tale of woe, but she was masterful at her fix. It got even shorter, but at least it was straightened and cute.
Here's my weight story: I've always been thin - 5'8" and 125 - 135 pounds since high school. I've always exercised, eaten well, and watched the scale carefully so keeping the weight under control was a way of life for me. Then I hit middle age, got a bit lax in my eating, exercise, and weighing myself habits and flab just appeared on my southern hemisphere. My clothes were feeling too tight, I had a belly, and when I got on the scale I discovered why - 20 extra pounds! Last summer I was officially flabby and disgusting. I decided this needed drastic action, so I cut my calorie intake by half, began walking at least an hour a day, and resumed my lifelong weight management
habits. It was a tough summer of trying to get my body back, but it was worth the effort. I lost all 20 pounds and have kept them off for a year now.
I can soooo relate to your story because I've been there - I think most of us, of this age, have experienced this. You are not fat, you are not ugly, you are not disgusting, your hair isn't the way you like it, you don't look like your self-image of yourself, and you're too hard on yourself. Quit beating yourself up! Remember you're still you and that makes you beautiful - no matter what the external shell looks like.

Well, after looking at the pics, I don't know where the fat is, You are very beautiful!
The hair can be fixed, just ask a friend who has a hair style you like, who does their hair and go to that person. A little styling will do wonders.
I know about the weight thing. I use to weigh 285lbs! back in 1999. After my last husband was killed in an accident I started losing weight and it just kept coming off. I am now at 143 but still think I could lose more, but, know that to be healthy I am where I should be. I still am self conscience about my weight though.
Hang in there.
P.s. Has anyone ever told you that you look like Elizabeth Montgomery from Bewitched. I always thought she was beautiful too.
