Ok.......

Anyways..

Have you ever wondered ? Why tennis balls are fuzzy?

The answer: The fuzz slows down the ball in flight, keeps it from bouncing to high and lets the racket get a better grip on it.

Oh, I don't know, mine seem to soar like eagles-I am NOT a good tennis player, but I WAS a homerun queen!!!
Ever wonder why modern technology keeps making things smaller and smaller? To me, that just makes things easier to lose!

I've often wondered the same thing...and if they are open 24 hours, why are they even called 7-11's?????

I also agree that the English language can be very confusing, to say the least.

Why do we call all black people african-americans if they're not all from africa and in the same sense then why don't we call all white people european-americans????

Whites are called caucasian, even though we didn't come from Caucasus...

The african american thing was started by a group of people who where jealous that the irish where called irish american and the italians where called italian americans. I think black is a better word, because there are a lot of black people who come from islands, like new guinea.

Why are people hellbent on saving $0.02 on a gallon of gas that they will wait in line for 1/2 hour instead of going to the filling station next door and coughing up the extra $0.02? So if you put 10 gallons in your saving a whopping $0.20...

Why do people pay a couple bucks more for a brand-name grocery item when the exact same generic one will taste the same? Peanut Butter is peanut butter no matter what kind of jar it comes in...

Why do people say "irregardless"? Doesn't that mean regardless of being regardless?

In accordance with Speedy's post, why do people drive faster when they're needle is on "E"?

The use of the word "mad" in the United States is understood to mean angry when it is really is meant to mean insane/crazy.

How many Americans use the the phrase "like I said" when they should say "as I said."

For the record, I am an American who was educated in the United States, Europe, Africa, the sub-continent, and Asia. I spent a great many years in former British colonies - yes, I know I am dating myself. So no bashing, please.

Language is facinating.

completely agree. I could careless what the price of gas is. I need it so I buy it. I don't look at the price, I go for conveince. Easy to pull into, easy to pull out, safety, freeway close, etc..

I know you use less gas going slow but my thinking is that the faster I go, the closer I will be to the gas station if I run out of gas.

need to vent------Anaheim SUCKS for trying to find a gas station. I drove around for 20 minutes Saturday looking for a gas station.
