Have you ever wondered?
I was roaming around the Internet and came across a website full of some interesting questions that make a person stop and wonder.
1. Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?
2. Why don't you ever see the headline Psychic Wins Lottery?
3. Why is it that when you transport something by car it is called shipment, but when you transport something by ship it's called cargo?
Anything you've ever wondered about?

Why do we drive on the parkway and park on the driveway?
If 7-11 is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why are there locks on the doors?
Why do they report power outages on tv?
Why is that if someone tells you that there are 1 billion stars in the universe you will believe them, but if they tell you a wall has wet paint You have to touch it to be sure!

More food for thought--
How does skating on thin ice get you into hot water?
Why are a wise man and a wise guy opposites?

Because the glue doesn't get a chance to dry.
Because magic is pretend.
Because the english language is stupid.
Because children do not cause themselves to be bored out of their minds and memorize the same useless facts about the american revolution every year of their lives instead of doing real thinking.

Where is that supposed to go? Unforunately memorizing facts has been around since....um, education has; too many years to actually know. However, forunately, education nowadays isn't all about memorizing facts, and teachers are actually held accountable-at least at my school and I find it impossible to be only my school, to be creative in their lessons, to connect it to the real world, to incorporate hands-on learning...to try what they can to minimize the boredom.
I wouldn't consider boredom to be a reason for children constantly talking back to the teachers...starting fights in the room...throwing chairs out the window...bullying other children...I would consider that to be from the start of bad parenting. Not "Oh no, this revolution again! What boring dribble...let me start a commotion because I am so bored".

Just because a kid can spit facts back it doesn't mean they understand what they're saying. I don't know, maybe things are better where you live, but my experience with public schools is that they don't care what students or parents think.
A lot of kids are jerks, but it's not like they never figured out that what they're doing is wrong. Most parents do all they can to raise their kids to be well behaved, but kids have their own free will. There are some parents who expect the teachers to do everything for them, but the majority of parents don't deserve the blame. Many kids behave very differently in school than they do at home. I was always much more well behaved at school than I was at home, and I imagine that the opposite is true for a lot of people.

Um, I speak english just fine and I am a suburbanite.
It's insane how english speakers are so proud of their nonsensical language that they refuse to change a single thing about it. Other languages are more flexible and have rules that make sense. And no I am not going to keep my comments to myself.

The english language is a bit strange. When you come to think of it-it's sort of dumb. Once I read in a tome about a tomb where someone found a comb and they threw it through the dome in the tomb-but it was really a bomb, so they ran through the rough grass to the trough, though it was raining, thus ending the reign of the ruler. They then handed the reins over to the new king of English, and said "can you straighten this out? My mind is numb, so come home and roam a bit and see the sights..."
