what draws you in?
As I was reading through the threads today, I began to wonder what exactly beckoned me, prompting me to post to one or another.
Is it passions, opinions, the need or want to help? Because you feel you have knowledge in a particular area, a mood you are in, or because it's just plain fun? Or, because it is posted by a friend and you want to join in?
What draws you to a certain thread and makes you want to stay...and stay...and stay?

I have often wondered - what catches your eye?

Ooh, I love your colorful Gauguin.
What draws me in? Primarily the exchange of information.
But I like the politics forum as well as this one.
I can't keep up with every last thread, but I do love the social aspect of this site.

All of the above. I guess it just depends on the question.

I like the variety of ideas and information I see in this site, especially in "other topics" and "general u.s.". Entertaining topics too. Many of the contributors are very good writers and post lots of topics for discussion that get my attention. Even though people might disagree or have different viewpoints, it doesn't get too hostile or harsh (except in P + OC, which is why I tune out from most of the topics there). Many of the people that I read comments from, especially in "other topics" seem like a nice group of friends to trade stories with in this electronic version of a neighborhood pub or coffeehouse.

I come here because I have made many cyber friends and I enjoy the exchange of ideas, but mostly because there are great people on this forum.
Maybe the fact that I really don't have a life plays a part too.

For me, I'm outgoing and like to express my opinion on different things. Sometimes I'd just say, "I like to talk".

I feel like I'm among friends here. I post a lot on "Other Topics", because so many of the threads are ones I can relate to.
Also, quite honestly, "Other Topics" is a nice respite from much of the negativity towards people's native cities on the rest of the board.

All of the answers are, so far, exactly what brought me here and has kept me here.
I started by looking for info on Florida, and have come to a place where 'everybody knows your name'....safe to say we have our own 'small town' in cyber space?
If I need a boost or just acknowledgement I am alive and viable - I know where to come.

(p.s I love the Gaughin, too. Wish I had the real thing - wonderful art with representation of my love for warmth and sun! And Lori - I don't have a life, either! )

I think all of the above too.
Sometimes I'll put the tool tip over a thread sort of an overview and think this sounds interesting...that's what I did on this one...lol
