Total American Mutt
I'm Irish, German, English, Welsh, French, Polish and Jewish - and 100% American! On my mother's side, I am a descendent of the PA Quakers and I'm very distantly related to Daniel Boone. And I have ancestors that came over on the Mayflower. Now that I am older, I'm more interested in learning my family history. The sad thing is the older generation that knows this info is slowly dying away. Makes me wish someone had written it all down.

I'm English, Irish, Dutch, with one grandparent a French Canadian (incl possible Native American) and ancestors back to the Scandanavian countries.
The other three all came around 1630, ministers, merchants, and farmers who founded colonies in Cape Cod, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Mass, New York, Maine, and Rhode Island. I'm related to a dozen presidents I know of. One ancestor attended the first Quaker meeting in Mass (mid 1600's) and was greatly put upon by the ruling entites. Luckily there's a lot of historical documentation.

We need to get together. I love doing genealogy research. I've also found that almost all of my ancestors were early settlers in the 1600's. Same w/ my husband. One of my ancesotors was on the Mayflower and one of dh's was appointed to the House of Burgesses.

I didn't have to do much original research other than to compile and update. Most of it was begun a hundred years ago by the family gen. society starting with the notes of Gov Winslow. Our reverand ancestor was a family friend of his father and as one of the only educated men at the time was sent all over the New England territories by him to establish congregations and towns. The rest came from books. Some of the stories are pretty interesting. Can't help but think "Live Free or Die" was his mantra as founder of New Hampshire. He was a progressive in conflict with the early religious oppression he found here.
