The price of cigarettes should be more than enough to encourage you to quit. I don't know how much you smoke, but if you smoke a pack a day, and you're paying $4.00 a pack, that's almost $1500 a year.

Let's not forget also the health benefits you gain by not smoking.

We know you'll be able to do it, and we'll be praying for ya to give up smoking completely.

Or you could pay a visit to a hospice and see someone in the final stages of lung cancer, outside, still smoking.

Yuck, that pic is horrifying...I wish I could get my man to quit, but he is a difficult one when it comes to smoking. I smoke "socially" (meaning, once or twice a week), but now I want to stop doing even that!

One of my brothers died from Asbestosis (Mesothelioma) and smoked until the day he died.

His wife was bugging him to quit.

His response, "Why, is it going to kill me?"

Once you have a death sentence placed on you some things just aren't important any more.

But, Okie_Dokie, do it!! I quit in 1981 after smoking for 25 years (started when I was eight) and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Cold turkey.

My husband is 82. He smoked since he was young, but quit cold turkey 24 years ago. He had double pneumonia for the second or third time, and was diagnosed with emphysema. He is now using a nebulizer 4 times a day.
My brother smoked, and developed a cough after several years. He quit smoking several years ago,and the cough went away. He is 75 now.
Both my husband and my brother have had heart attacks. I don't know if their smoking had anything to do with that.
I wish everyone would quit smoking.
