Default Which are you more apt to read, long or short post?

I am more apt to read the shorter posts that get right to the point. The lengthy ones lose me.
If it is so long that you have to scroll to see it all, I usuallly do not bother reading it. And if it is all ran together, with no paragraphs, I really seldom read it.
I do read long threads, if they are interesting.
How do others feel about this?

I agree 100% with you Marianinark. Thanks for bringing up this subject. If the poster can't get their message out in a short story form then I move on. 3 or 4 short paragraphs is plenty to get their message out.
A person should be able to get their point across without going into a lengthy boring dissertation. Especially those posts where a link to an informative site would suffice for those that want to know more.

i dont care if the post is long or short. if i see that the thread is moving quickly and by the time i get there it's a few pages long, i dont bother answering unless i really have something to say.

Read: Posts of any length that are interesting.

Don't read: Posts that are written as one long paragraph, or with inexplicable multiple commas and/or periods in places they don't belong. Posts typed in colors or fonts I can't read, or see well. Posts that are simply incomprehensible.

I will read long posts ONLY if it is something I am really interested in, and if it is divided into paragraphs, with no emoticons, and no colored fonts..I very seldom read the long posts in the R&L forums, because they very seldom are the writers own words but are copy and paste stuff..

I am a really fast reader and can skim a very long post to see if it is worth responding to..I read the longer posts of my friends in the "Blogs" because they are usually about something in their lives or about a subject they are passionate about..This post is getting long and you all quit reading it after the first paragraph

These are my thoughts as well, though I am more forgiving of a carefully chosen smilie or emoticon.
If the post is completely dotted with smilies, I probably will scroll on through without reading.

I prefer to read the shorter posts, those long ones just seem to lose my interest after about the 100th paragraph.
