the wonders of craigslist
where else can you get a tv, hire someone to clean your house, get sports tickets for a friends birthday, and laugh at the people in 'missed connections'. what would we do without craiglist?

I think they even have ads for “medical services” that are needed after a friend of a friend of a friend meets some of the girls who post ads there. Not that there is anything wrong with that mind you.
However you can find some good buys on lamps and used tv sets, just something that you can plug in and not have to worry about!

I gave away a plant on Craigslist back in 2005, before our move.
I could not believe how fast people replied to my ad.
I found a good home for it, which made me happy. It was a huge dracena plant, more than 25 years old, that had been given to by my then-boyfriend now husband. She (the plant recipient) even emailed me a month later (after our move) to tell me it was doing fine.

Hmmm...I've been considering placing an ad in the "Lessons" section for teaching martial arts - didn't know if it would fly or not, but it sounds like it might...

I sometimes read some of the "Missed Connections" stuff for a laugh just like the first poster. It also depresses me though because you realize that they RARELY work. I don't think I would want to date though there, as craigslist has ALOT of weirdos! On the plus side I've done a lot of business and made a lot of money THROUGH craigslist. Definitely reaches more people than classified ads.

I bought my wife's car from an ad there. Also a boat. Still have the car and it's great! The boat, well, she broke deep and took water. *cue The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald*
Occasionally, I've taken a look at some of the more unusual categories, which get quite a bit of traffic, and gotten a kick.

I've always looked at the classifieds when I had a few extra minutes or was looking for something specific. And, man, that part of newspapers has taken a major hit in the past five years or so. The internet is in the process of polishing off the newspaper biz as we know it.

I use craigslist all the time to, only downside is there are a lot of flakes. Same with freecycle.
I can't stand people telling you they will be there and they never show up, no phone call or nothing. They think their time is more valuable than yours.

I just called about a car for sale the other day - the ad had been posted at 5:07am. I called at 9:30am and the car was already sold.
Now THAT'S impressive!
