I was born in Ohio at a very young age so I don’t remember much about it. My folks moved to the Omaha area and took the dog and me with them. I’m 2,046 miles from the place of birth, and 48 degrees warmer today in Phoenix area.
Mike isn’t staying in his room when he told to go there.

Today's Question:
When folks ask "Where are you from?" Do you tell them the place you were born or grew up ?
The place I grew up until I lived somewhere else for more years after that...now it is a little bit of every where.
Extra Credit Question:
How far do you live from the place you were born ? Well, I was born in West Virginia, have homes in California, Wyoming, and Arkansas.
Bonus Question:
How many times do you think Mike will be "sent to his room" while I am gone ?I am sure he will be a good boy and behave while you are gone. Some of these other guys - I don't know!!

If anyone nearby asks where I am from, I assume they want to know where I was born..I was born in Cincinnati which is about 225 miles from Pikeville, Ky..
If I am traveling and someone asks where I am from I assume they mean now, so it is Pikeville..
Mike will break a record and NOT have to go to his room

I always tell them where I was born. Since I'm not too fond of any of the other places I've lived it makes perfect sinse to not claim them.

I was born in central Idaho, and raised a little farther south in Idaho. If someone asks me where I am from, I say Idaho, but I have been here in the Ozarks 31 years...this time.
I am about 1600 miles from my birth place.
I have no idea about Mike's 'going to his room' status, but I will not be one of the ones telling him to do so.

When people from outside the area ask me where I am from I usually say Mississippi. Sometimes they are familiar with the state and ask for more detail. I was born in New Albany, MS and my family moved around quite a bit when I was a child trying to find work. We settled down back in MS to a place called Blue Springs which was just 12 miles from New Albany.
DH and I moved around as he was in the army when we got married. When we decided to settle down after his stint with the army, we pondered many places to move to as we had both been to so many areas. South Carolina was looking like the place until we came home one more time. Decided it was a very good place to raise a family and put down roots in Blue Springs.
I live 12 miles from the town of my birth, and 1/4 mile from the home where I was raised. I've never regretted our decision. Been in the home we built for 24 years.

sure do. I tell them I was born in OH, but moved to CA when I was 10.
How far do you live from the place you were born ?
About 1800 +/- miles with out looking it up.
Bonus Question:
How many times do you think Mike will be "sent to his room" while I am gone ?
Too many unfortunately.
