Wink What's In A Name...This Should Be Fun

Let me start with an old classic my name: Bob

The boy's name Bob \bob\ is pronounced bob. It is of Old English origin. Short form of Robert, of later coinage than Hob,
Dob, and Nob. Bobbie and Bobby are pet forms, though Bobbie is more frequently used for girls. While Bobby was common for
children in the 1950s and '60s, Robert today is more likely to be shortened to Robbie or Rob instead of the pedestrian Bob.
Comedian Bob Hope; singer Bob Dylan; chess master Dob Fischer; actor Billy Bob Thornton.

Bob has 4 variant forms: Bobbee, Bobbey, Bobbie and Bobby.

But you can call me Bob

Grammy--Short form of Grandmother or Grandma 1. The Mother of one's Father or Mother. 2. A female ancestor. Other variants include Granny, Gram and, in my case, MomMom.

My real name means "Gift of God". I can live with that!
My forum name reflects my state and also my online identity Mark
Mark is much smarter than the man behind the curtain, so we stick to that name usually!!
Plus, my father's name is Mark, though he's pretentious and spells it "marque" and I've always been called "Mark", though Mark is not my name!

Donna, I was named after the blessed mother, Madonna, my Mom had a complicated pregnancy and prayed to her for me to be born healthy. I was! After that my Mom lost a baby 2 weeks old and had 6 misscariages, so I consider myself lucky to be here.

Nana, in my case, is also a form of Grandmother. I was definitely too young to be Grandma when the first one was born!

From my searches, the origin of Nana may be Hawaiian or Serbian or Indian (from India). I'm none of these so now it is a southern thing....
