Won't go into stuff I liked as a kid, 'cause I was pretty wierd.
Currently I collect small wheeled toys. Mostly Hotwheels, but I LOVE MicroMachines and lots of the little toys (wheels are a must, kewl action is a huge plus ) that you can find most anywhere.

I am married to an incredible woman; she lets me use the dining room and the guest room walls to display a large part of what has grown to a collection of over 4,000 diecast and plastic car, truck, bus, emergency vehicle and aircraft models! Did the matchbox thing as a kid (wished I'd saved 'em) and built model kits but put aside as I traveled around the world in military. Got hooked on small HO-scale models when I was in Germany and that grew to the addiction i have now.

The toy I love most as a kid was a Mighty Mo cannon, sometimes marketed as a Johnny Reb Cannon. That and my Tonka trucks. Wish I still had my cement mixer and dump truck. All metal with a lifetime guarantee.

My favorites had to be Barbies. I got my first Barbie when I was 3 (took her swimming and her hair fell out when the glue dissolved), and played with them constantly until abandoning them upon entry into junior high. I had three -- the original, an ash blonde; an ash blonde bubblehead; a dark brown Twist 'n' Turn; as well as Midge, Alan, Casey and Skipper. They all lived in that teeny Barbie Dream House (the yellow one with the kitchen table attached to the wall c. 1967ish), and had no car. My mom hand-made their clothes, God love her!
I also loved my Spirograph. Or maybe it was my sister's ...

My job is all about toy product development. Toys today are incorporating interactive elements that allow kids to network via the internet, download play patterns, etc. While the new innovations are cool I miss the simplicity of a basic toy. My favorite was my Marx Johnny West figure. I adored that toy so much. It came with really cool accessories, the horse Thunderbolt had plastic tack... and Johnny West could date my Barbie. I would glue cotton balls to his face and trim out a neat beard and mustache then take rubber bands and a hankerchief to create an Arabian Sheik look. I also could not get enough of my fire engine pedal car.
