The best was my 16th birthday party because I finally got to have both girls and BOYS.. My dad didn't much like it though..

Party hats...hmmm....it's been so long since I've worn one for My birthday, maybe 37 years or so, does my kids count?

Happy Birthday To You my dear...

Happy Birthday Karla. Your Birthday is rated "E" so EVERYONE can wish you a Happy Birthday today!

When I was young my family would take me and a few friends out to dinner. We had a bakery on the corner that baked the best birthday cakes with lemon filling.

Only tradition was to blow out the candles and make a wish. Remember those trick candles you could never blow out? They used to scare the heck of me. I thought I was going to burn down the house!

Happy Birthday Karla!

My bestest birthday was my 41st birthday. I planned my wedding on my birthday so neither of us would have to remember yet another "important" date.

I wore one of those hats last year at a friends grandson's party.

No traditions that I remember.

Happy BirthDay to you dear Karla!!!

Best? My 21st-BF at the time gave me a diamond chip pendant, we put the top down on his car, went to the shore and came back to a surprise party.

Now-I have to iron my birthday suit daily.

Hats-probably at my grands birthdays.

What was your "bestest" birthday ever?
Every year has been the best.... but one that is the "bestest" that really stands out is when I was "50" it was a very special time.... and everyone made it the greatest!!!

When was the last time you wore a birthday hats?

Did you have any "Birthday traditions" in your family while growing up ?
Yes, our whole family, brother, sister, spouses, nieces, nephews, their children, grandchildren everyone gathers at some place, the b'day person choice and we celebrated that ones b'day.

October 7, 1957 "American Bandstand" premieres -
Oh, yes... American Bandstand!! Every teenager wanted to be on that show...
I so remember watching it every saturday... never missed it!!! Remember learning to dance and keeping up with the fad of dancing, clothes, Oh, yes the hair-do's!!
It was the thing to do and watch when I was a teenager....!!!

Today is:
lol because it is my b-day I am making it
National Pizza,Cheesesteak and Fried Ravioli Day
(which are all the items I plan on sampling tonight when we go out for dinner !!!)

My best birthday was when I was about 10 years old. Since my birthday is Dec 21 I always got the "this is for your birthday and Christmas". That year my mom ans dad had some extra and unloaded all the presents they felt I had missed all those years. What can I say,I was hopelessly materialistic when I was a kid.

I don't ever remember wearing a party hat. We did have a birthday tradition that I have passed along to my kids. Everyone in the family has one once a year.

Live fron Phildelphia, home of real cheesesteaks,

Can anyone in Philly overnite cheesesteaks to Chicago?

Well, I am in an interesting situation in life. About seven years ago my very young Grandson - the youngest - felt the need to get older as fast he could. My Grand babies know to come to Grandma for anything they need. He asked if he could have my birthday so he could be older and I would live forever since I would not get any older! It sounded like a win-win deal for me. His sister wanted in on the deal so now I buy them both a gift for what use to be my birthday and we celebrate with cake, ice cream, and everyone is happy!!

It's really nice to be ageless.

Nice, clay lady. I knew I should have had kids!

Anyway, no particular b'day stands out except the year - I think I was 12. Mom and Dad took me to a concert. Don't get all excited. It was Liberace. Now, tell me...what kid wants to see Liberace??? I was hoping for the Beatles or something along those lines, but nnnnoooooooo. Oh, well, I lived.

Our b'day tradition was we got to choose what we had for dinner. I always chose SHepherd's Pie. Love shepherd's pie.

Enjoy, Karla. You deserve it.

Best Birthday?.....probably my 5th when we lived in Chicago. Girl in the same apartment building was born on the same day and we had a party together. Funny, we even resembled each other, blond curls and green eyes. This was also the last time I ever wore a party hat, I'm sure.

No traditions that I can remember.

American Bandstand, oh yes, good old Bob and Justine!!!! Anyone else remember them????
