My 50th was really good. I had a DJ, I wore a cute outfit, there was good food, good people and the weather was beautiful so we could spill outside.
But probably the best birthday cake I ever had was for my 21st.
My good friend baked it herself; it had alternating black cats and orange pumpkins.
I think the last time I wore a pointy birthday hat was at my older son's birthday party, when he was a little kid.

Today's Question:
What was your "bestest" birthday ever?
This is a difficult one to answer. Every year is a special one for me now, because of the boys. Before I was married and having kids of my own, I didn't think much about Birthdays. As soon as my boys became aware that Mom and Dad have birthdays also and started doing special things for us it is one of my favorite days. The home-made cards and notes, the hugs and the "I love you", the whole feeling of being cared for by them really makes my day now. So there is no one special day that stands out, they all have been GREAT for the past 10 years!
Extra Credit Question:
When was the last time you wore a birthday hats?
(You know the cardboard ones with that elastic string that goes under your neck and cuts off your circulation )
2 years ago on my 43rd birthday. The youngest one said it made me look silly and he didn't think I needed one anymore, the other 3 agreed and thank you God, no more birthday hats for this ol' boy.
Bonus Question:
Did you have any "Birthday traditions" in your family while growing up ?
Growing up other than cake and Ice Cream, not really. We (Meaning my wife) try to set up the day as very special for whoevers Birthday it is now in our house. Birthday time is rolling around here very soon in fact. 1st one is in 3 weeks and then there is 3 more scattered through until February.

Good morning everyone
Happy Tuesday
Sorry this is late, I have been getting lots of b-day calls from my family members lol and you all know how I love to chat
Wow it just seems like yesterday that it was the big 50 and here we are adding a 1 *gulp*
Because I love birthdays (not just mine but everyone's) I hope you all will indulge me as we have a Birthday themed
Today's Question:
What was your "bestest" birthday ever? My bestest birthday ever...was my 19th. That is the day Mr. Poconoproud proposed to little ol' me. I blew out my candles...a 1 and a 9...and he told me I had to remove them from the cake for good luck. Attached to the nine, with a string, was a gorgeous pear shaped diamond ring. He went down on one knee in front of all of our family and friends, and popped the biggest Q of the Day I ever received.
Extra Credit Question:
When was the last time you wore a birthday hats? don't remember!
(You know the cardboard ones with that elastic string that goes under your neck and cuts off your circulation )
Bonus Question:
Did you have any "Birthday traditions" in your family while growing up ? not us, but my best friend's family has a tradition of laying down an extra candle, unlit...for luck in the coming year.

Nothing in the good dept. stands out. I had a couple birthdays growing up where parties were planned and, literally, no one showed up. But as an adult, I'd have to say, any birthday I've had since I met my husband... and there's been 10 of 'em. He makes me and "my day" feel very special.
Haven't worn a hat in probably 15 years.
We had traditions growing up. We got to pick our favorite resturant to go out to dinner at. But not any more. Heck, for the last 3 years my own parents have completely forgotten my birthday... and they live real close to me. They don't even say Happy Birthday, much less give a gift or take me out any where. And it's not 'cuz they're too old. They just no longer care. That's mine to carry and do with what I want. So far, I'm only carrying it, as I don't really know what to do with it.
Sorry... didn't mean to be such a Debby Downer! LOL!

What was your "bestest" birthday ever?
My 30th, my DH arranged for a weekend getaway to Victoria BC, he organized everything... getting a sitter for our kids, booking the ferry tickets, reserving an amazing hotel suite, scheduled a tour of Butchart Gardens, arranged for high tea at The Empress and even convinced a close friend of mine to drag her husband along and come with us. All of it was a surprise and very much out of the ordinary for him.
When was the last time you wore a birthday hats?
Some time in March for my cousins 6th birthday. I often attend parties for kids and end up wearing a hat doing the hokey pokey!
Did you have any "Birthday traditions" in your family while growing up ?
Not when I was a kid, but we started our own family tradition a few years back. It was inspired by someone else, can't remember who but what we do is on the morning of your birthday you get breakfast in bed and it is made to order.... for example if you want chocolate cake for breakfast, that's what you get!

Best birthday 13 I was an official teenager.
Traditions I got to pick what I wanted for dinner, and of course now that I'm
older I pick where I get to go out to eat.
Birthday hat? I was about 32 at Chi Chi's and the waitress threw the big old birthday sombreo on my head...lol
I guess the funny cone hat I wore at my daughters 1st birthday in 1986.

I don't know if you would call it "bestest birthday", but the gal I was with back in the 1980's (Lynn) and I had a birthday party for her close friend, and about 10 people came over. Anyhow, Lynn's friend got pretty drunk and by the time everybody left around midnight, I told Lynn to play a trick on her friend the next morning when she woke up. Next morning came, and we started telling her friend that she was so drunk, she took all of her clothes off and started dancing on the coffee table infront of the guys who were over there.. and she started freaking out, and to this day I remember her exclaiming in disbelief "You gotta be kidding me!". It's not the kind of thing you want to hear after waking up hung-over! We finally told her that we were only kidding, and she didn't take her clothes off and dance..
