Default Todays question Tuesday 10-07-08

Under construction
should be finished shortly
ok all done thank you all for your patience
and here we go

Good morning everyone
Happy Tuesday
Sorry this is late, I have been getting lots of b-day calls from my family members lol and you all know how I love to chat
Wow it just seems like yesterday that it was the big 50 and here we are adding a 1 *gulp*

Because I love birthdays (not just mine but everyone's) I hope you all will indulge me as we have a Birthday themed

Today's Question:

What was your "bestest" birthday ever?

Extra Credit Question:

When was the last time you wore a birthday hats?
(You know the cardboard ones with that elastic string that goes under your neck and cuts off your circulation)

Bonus Question:

Did you have any "Birthday traditions" in your family while growing up ?

Today in History:
October 7, 1806 Carbon paper patented in London

October 7, 1916 222 points are scored in a football game between Georgia Tech and Cumberland University of Lebanon, Tennessee

October 7, 1957 "American Bandstand" premieres - omg rofl I am as old as bandstand

Word of the Day:
gambol
\GAM-buhl\, intransitive verb:
1. To dance and skip about in play; to frolic.
noun:
1. A skipping or leaping about in frolic.

Today is:
lol because it is my b-day I am making it
National Pizza,Cheesesteak and Fried Ravioli Day
(which are all the items I plan on sampling tonight when we go out for dinner !!!)
it is also
National Flower Day
and believe it or not
National G-Rated Birthday Day - tee hee no one told me this when I turned 40

Karla, this is the internet. This is the one place you can lie about your age and the majority of us would have no clue. So I'll pretend that you're 30 and you don't look a day over 25.

I really haven't had to many exciting birthdays. I'm sure part of that is because I don't really want people to make a big deal of it. So, I'm going to go with my 16th birthday because I got to drive.

Last time I wore a birthday hat was last March for my niece and nephews birthdays. I wore Hannah Montana and Cars, very stylish.

A birthday tradition I had growing up was that I would get a Dairy Queen Ice cream cake. The funny thing was our local Dairy queen closed every winter for a couple weeks during my birthday, so I would get my cake early, but my mom would put it in the freezer till my birthday.

Default Birthdays...

Happy Birthday, Karla, and may you have a very blessed year!

I don't know. I have had some good birthdays. I would probably say when I turned 13. I was excited to be a teen-ager! My parents gave me a sign to put on the door to my room that said:

ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.
A TEEN-AGER LIVES HERE.

I just thought that was so cool! And I had a slumber party with my friends that night.

Like tpabes said, 16 was also a very good one because I got my driver's license that day!

Party hats?? Probably when my son was little and having a birthday.

Traditions?? Besides the obligatory cake, I can't remember any. Just the usual good stuff~cake and ice cream, presents and a b-day party with friends.

October 7, 1806 - Carbon paper patented in London

Haven't used or even thought about carbon paper in years! Do you realize there will come a time that someone will ask what it is, or was?

Birthday hats? Hmmm... I don't know about hats, but I've always worn birthday suits..

Bestest birthday... I think just about every birthday is bestest when I was a kid, mom and dad took me out to dinner and they spoiled me, but about a year ago, mom and dad told me that they're gonna have to stop doing that..

We all keep birthdays simple, no traditions or things of that nature.
