Hookers, snakes, bear, thugs, dirt interesting collection of sights while walking and reasons not to walk. I started walking more last year. Docs told me I needed to as it would help recover from heart surgery. Mrs Dude sometimes goes with me. She can't walk very far so she rides her scooter. Most dangerous thing here is an occasional bee. We have good sidewalks with cutouts at corners so Nancy's scooter has no problem with curbs. Just another reason someone should buy this place so we can join Suzanne1945 in TN.

I walk around the neighborhood every day with my dog. We have no sidewalks but the roads are wide.

We walk around our neighborhood all the time, as do several other people. In fact, we probably do it too much as the dog pees on all the same vertical objects and knows where every house with a dog is!

There are people (young, old, with and without dogs) walking all over our neighborhood all the time. Which is weird, b/c we also have a park with walking trails, but people seem to prefer the sidewalks.

Yes, I do and I need to do it more. In our neighborhood, there are tons of people walking and walking their dogs etc. You always see people out both morning and evening, but especially in the evenings.

I only walk around da hood when I'm lookin to score some yeyo mang.
In all seriousness, look at the obesity rate. More than half of America is fat and lazy. The smaller half(pun intended ) is so caught up in work or school that they don't even have time to do laundry, let alone walk the neighborhood. We also got all these distractions with computers and video games so now going outside is considered boring and dull.

Wait a minute - I'm confused. Isn't your room the doghouse??? I thought they were one and the same!
