Ok, time to be nice to Alice...

Just about all the kids that stopped by here last night were polite and well behaved. Their parents stood in the background and just smiled while the kids got their candy.

The one exception was a group of three kids who wouldn't back up enough for me to open the door and were fighting with each other for position. I finally just pushed them out of the way with the door to get it open. Their parents were right there on the steps taking up even more space and yelling at them while they were doing it.

None of them said thank you, and I watched as the kids went running wild with parents yelling at them to the next house.

AliceT, Sorry. I thought the subject was pet peeves, which to me are those annoying little things that do not amount to much and a little humor sometimes helps them go down. Had I realized you really needed to vent, I would have kept my keyboard out of it.

Sorry, Alice, did not read your o.p. And yes, it peeves me when parents answer for their kids. I liked how you called trick or treat "beggars night!"
