Todays Pet Peeve 19 November 2008
People who double dip at parties. That's where they pick up a chip or cracker, dip it in the dip, take a bite and then dip it again. I don't mind if they take some of the dip and put it on a napkin to dip a chip multiple times, but in the same community dish on the table that everyone uses? Yuck!

When I give parties, I put spoons in the dip dishes for people to spoon the dip onto their plates (3 section plates) which would be the proper thing to do. The problem starts when
it's all finger food and people just hold the food in their hands or napkin.

I'm against double dipping.. even if I'm the only one eating it!! If I find a large vegetable or chip, I will break it in half before dipping!

I’ve seen the double dipping too often at parties years ago. Most of those who did it were drinking more alcohol then they needed. However it wasn’t something that most everyone enjoyed watching and several others just stopped eating all together. I also remember one house party that the owner had a cat running around on top of the table with the food arranged on it, and a guest who managed to get his fingers dipped as well as the chip and was seen licking fingers and starting all over again with new chips.

Double dipping ... YUK!
My pet peeve for the day is people who toss their cigarette butts all over the place. Driving down the road and out the window it goes. Step out of their vehicle and onto the floor it goes ... it's called littering and can be a potential fire hazzard in some places people!
There's nothing worse than walking upto a restaurant doorway and there's cig butts all over the floor or spewing out of the containers. Double YUK!
