One time when I was in college, my mother said, "Here is some pin money, now don't pin it to a bar!"

My grandfather's specials
"Nothing up a skirt but trouble."
"Never chase a woman or a bus. There'll be another in 15 minutes."
My father's:
When confronted by a small crisis, he'd raise his eyes up, stare at the ceiling, and spread out his arms, and say, "Cross your feet, we only have three nails."

Ive been told; It can take years to build trust, but can be destroyed within minutes.
There's a cover for every tea pot.

"We're gonna go round and round and to fist city." When mom said that I thought fist city was somewhere inside the dryer. What can I say, I had a vivid imagination as a child.

"You make a better door than a window."
(when someone was standing in front of the tv.)
Also "Put a sweater on" when I was cold.

There are so many great ones already listed, and some were ones I grew up with!
Ones I remember best:
"Are you trying to air condition the entire neighborhood?" My dad as I held the front door open to talk to someone.
"Are you trying to refrigerate the whole house?" My dad as I held the fridge door open!
"Don't let the screen door hit you in the a** on your way out." My grandpa to anyone who annoyed him.
"A chicken ain't nothin' but a bird" Same grandpa, something about bragging you have it better than others.
"If I have to stop this car....." yelled by my dad from the front seat to the back on multiple trips.
"Whistling makes the Blessed Virgin Mary cry" my grandmother
"Your poor great granddaddy would roll over in his grave if..." my other grandpa
"When I was a kid, I had to walk two miles uphill in snow drifts to school both ways" My dad, who grew up in southern Louisiana, therefore especially funny because of the lack of snow there!
"Watch out! Here comes the murderer!" My grandpa would yell this from the front porch as soon as he saw his older sister drive up the street. Said sister was a nun who had been in a car accident where another passenger died. I hope to God he never said it to her face!
That's all for now...thanks, everyone, for sharing yours!
