There’s nothing wrong with being an addict/junkie here. However the only thing you must watch out for is in some areas they post signs telling you to stay away 5,000 feet away from public school yards. Junkies are not allowed near them, and if the police drive by you’ll be questioned for sure. Keep the laptop at home while traveling and avoid getting hooked on wifi at coffee shops, it’s just another place to connect up with C-D.

Itís a ten step program to get off. Youíll have trouble doing it on your own, you need a sponsor to help you through this.

I use to be... I'll admit it... um, but after having some issues with certain people & things... I think I am starting to slowly walk away from C-D. I'm not totally gone, but I don't post nearly as much as I once did. I don't feel the need to any longer. There are some GOOD people on here... and they are probably the main reason I stay. It is hard to break the C-D addiction... that is true, but it can be done. You just have to want to.

Maybe I had better rethink my original post I suppose it can be an addiction if it is interferring with the rest of your life but if one uses the forum judiciously it can be a fun and informative place to go. I suppose I do at times let some things get behind by posting but I do try to pick the times I post when nothing more important is calling. I guess it all depends on an individual personality.

Holy Cowabunga! -- I'm looking at the number of posts by some responders (12,000, 15,800, 25,000!!!) and thinking, 'How can anyone possibly have that many posts?' ... That's like two post every hour x 12 hours per day x 365 days per year for three years!! (25,000+) How do you do that?? ... and what do you do (besides post) when you aren't sleeping or eating?

I take back what I said about being an 'addict' -- obviously, I'm a real baby here!

I work full-time and am involved in several non-profit organizations and also do stuff with friends. My life is very hectic, and C-D is an escape from the craziness of my schedule. I have tons of posts because of playing the word games. In a 30-minute visit there, I make 20 to 25 posts. (It would be even more, but you have to wait 60 seconds between posts.) In some of the word games, if you're posting on there at the same time as someone else, you can go back and forth very quickly on one thread.

That said, I do admit that I'm guilty of spending more time than I should on C-D. It helps, though, that I type very fast. Heck, I tested once at 105 wmp on a MANUAL typewriter with the hand-return carriage.

I've made some very good friends on here. I don't do Facebook and don't text and don't talk on the phone much at all. So far, this is my only communication vice!
