It doesn't matter where you live, whether in a big city, or out in the boonies, a gun in the hands of a law-abiding citizen IS your best defense against criminals, not calling 911, and it works much faster than having to wait for the police to send somebody. As in this case, she held the criminal at gun-point until a police officer arrived!
Hooray for Sandra!
This happens a lot more times but you won't hear about it, law-abiding citizens with a guns in their hands, protect themselves against criminals.
