He shut down his membership to the dating site and asked me to do the same because he wants us to be together. he told me he has 3 months left and he will be out. returning first to texas and then to utah.
things have been going well we have chatted day and night every day until a week ago when he told me his laptop broke and he needs another one badly or he will not be able to chat with me when he wants to. He told me there is no way to send him a laptop because the mail system is down there. so he wants me to western union the money to a friend who is in the uk now on his way to him in baghdad and he will buy the system for him and bring it to him. he will pay me back when he returns in texas or utah. wherever I decide to meet up with him.
I understand that he is lonely and wants this laptop for communication but is there not a place for him to get on the computers there? does he really need his own computer>?
he said he is a staff seargent. and he has to borrow a laptop if he wants to chat with me. I told him to do it then, beg, borrow and I am sure they will let him borrow them boys are over there to help eachother out. his reply was I wont be able to chat when I want with you. He does not like to borrow. my reply was if you want to chat with me bad enough then you will ask to borrow and if not then we will have to email eachother I am sure you can get a system to email me daily. that is fine with me.
need some help here? I feel for him because he is over there serving our country but, is this a scam? I dont know what to believe anymore when it comes to the new scams now in our world.
thanks

Yes, anybody can get a uniform and medals. Why, as a matter of fact, right here in my very own neck of the woods, we have this scandal going on this very minute!

He is supposed to be getting out within 4 weeks and is coming to utah to meet up with me. We have continued to discuss having a relationship when he does return home.
I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on with the situation, while he was waiting for his new laptop it was harder for us to chat he was borrowing from the other soldiers he told me.
I have an issue because I dont trust anyone since being burned before in a relationship. I have reallly had a hard time because i have been unable to locate him thru the military.com site that was provided for me and thru people find, which people find did not surprise me because I typed in my name and it has nothing in there.
I just am hoping this person is for real and have been very careful as to what I say and what we discuss about anything regarding a relationship and he is aware that I do not trust, so he is willing to prove to me who he is when he returns to the states.
I just wanted to let you all know thank you so much for your help in this matter, and all of your input.
I hope it works out as a great story, I will keep you updated as to what happens...
thanks again

What you need to do, for your own peace of mind is spend a little money and have him checked out by a licensed private investigator. It's a small investment that will give you peace of mind one way or the other. If you don't do it, and later find out this guy is not who he represents himself to be, or worse, he is a murderer or some kind of criminal, you will be kicking yourself (if you are still alive). On the other hand, if he is who he says he is, and you've had him checked out and everything is good, then it is money well spent because then you can relax.

I'm pretty sure there will be some computers supplied by the military for such a use. I wouldn't send a dime!! Could be a naive young man but he'll find a friend's he can borrow if needed.

According to what the op said on july,11.09 the army sgt was suppose to get out of the army in 4 weeks (mid-aug.09). If thats true then its been 3 months now. I wonder what happened ? Follow ups would be nice.

just an update... sorry for the delay
the guy was a scammer and was scamming 3 other women at the same time he was scamming me.. sorry for not saying anything was told by the FBI not to let on they were trying to catch the entire set up there were several guys doing this.. however, I was able with the help of another woman to give all the names and information out and addresses so they could catch them in action... but all is well they are being punished the one' that got caught... but I am sure some got away... and are using other identity to continue... just the word to others out there.. if it sounds too good to be true it probably is... hate to feel that way , but I learned a valuable lesson.. thanks for all your input and help guys and girls...

Preying on the emotions of women goes high tech.
Hard lesson to learn, angelgrace, but learn from the experience and get on with life.

I am so sorry.....
we have to stop these guys.... they always use another guys name... the military will not help us.... the FBI wont help us.... please... I am a very educated woman.. and I fell for this... there has to be a way to stop them..... first of all this forum is a place to come to but not every woman comes here... first we come as a last resort..... I wish there was a way to start a web page to use as a way to post names so that we could post all the names of the scammers... right away... like when you sign onto the internet... then type in the url: scammers, then type the name of the guy that you have and it comes up... and then there is a place you could add new names there??? this would stop these guys faster I think... just so you all know this guy wallace has a new profile... just updated it to new york this past week... as his new address so beware...
anyway if anyone can help with this let us know... I would love to help just dont know how... let me know... I am sorry for your loss...
lets help everyone out there... the men too I know there are men being taken advantage of too... I have heard it too... lets put our heads together and see how we can get a page set up that is easy to use out there for everyone to use easily that is free....

I am so sorry... again.....
please please feel free to use my personal email.... angelgrace40@msn.com
I do not always come to this site daily... I know I should.. but have been very busy... with grandkids and my own medical issues... I hope you did not send money... but if you did... it is a lesson learned I know.... I wish I would have been able to help you before... like I said in the earlier post there has to be an easier way to catch these verman... that is what they are... they are not human... they make a living off woman and men they prey on.. they were really mad at me... because I had several of thier names and I posted them everywhere I could.. and turned them in everywhere I could... all the western unions.... the FBI wont help the navy, the army wont help us... we have to do this ourselves...
I am asking anyone out there that can help us create a web page easy to access from the internet... just by typing in the word scammers... so that it brings up our page and we can make it user friendly and type in the names we have and if it does not come up we can put the name in it if we find out they are scammers.. just that easy so that they can only scam one person instead of thousands like they have been it has been too easy for them.. so if anyone out there knows how to do it... please help us....??? I would if I knew how... I dont know how to do it...there has to be a way to do it..???
these people cant keep taking our money from us... we have to take them down....
let me know if I can be of any help even to talk about our storys... it helps sometimes to talk about it... let me know.... ok...
