People love to talk and spread bad things about others(when was the last time anyone whispered somethig nice about someone else in your ear?) mostly because they have no lives themselves to keep them busy. Just dont get yourself caught listening to rumours.
I havent see/heard anything in awhile, but am sure its out there somewhere. Either that or maybe I just do the 'in one ear, out the other' thing. Seriously though, its been awhile since Ive really encountered something like that....unless it was a troll in one of the forums Im a member of.
Sad, sad, little people who want others to be just as miserable as they are. Rise above it and don't give their "knowledge" another thought!
A while back I made a conscious effort to keep people like this at arms length, or if possible cut them out of my life. It made a world of difference. Before I did however, I called them out on the stuff they were saying. Boy oh boy did that bite them in the butt. Made them rethink and me feel a lot better.

Yes, as my dear MIL used to say, if you can't say anything nice about a person, don't say anything. I know this is an old saying, but she believed this and I cannot recall her ever, ever saying anything negative about anyone. And I have learned in the small town near us, some love to gossip and it is always best to turn a 'deaf ear'. I cannot stand gossip.
