Federal taxes; Do the feds care where you live?
I'm just curious, do I only have to worry about moving from one state to another on my state taxes? Do the federales not care that I lived in Illinois 9 months ago and moved to Missouri in April?

We don't pay state taxes in Florida, so I'm not real familiar with how state laws run. I would imagine you owe state taxes to whatever state you were residing in when you received your paychecks. Here's a link that will answer your questions:

My wife says no. Trust me, she knows! The only concern is making sure they get your new, and correct, address. Apparently the Feds still consider Missouri part of the U.S.  |

Nope Feds don't care how long you spent in each State. Only the individual States will make you figure out how much of your income was earned while there.

They only care about how much you claimed to pay in state income tax, if you itemize and if any part of it is refunded if you move.
