Today's Pet Peeve 21 Jan 2009
#1 Hair coloring that shows the coloring will make your hair shine as well as change the color.
#2 Of all the hair colors to choose from, there is no way to dye your hair gray. I love gray hair and would like a whole head of it. There is no way to do it with just a box hair coloring.

Actually, we old folks call it silver, not gray, or maybe even platinum. I have gray in the temples and I look quite distinguished. That is until you see my beer gut with my hairy belly showing beneath my tshirt.
Speaking of hair coloring. I work with the world's most effeminate heterosexual who constantly sprays his hair with smelly hair spray until his head looks like a hair helmet. Then he daubs it with coloring because it is getting gray. And he is a psychologist!
It really stinks up the office.

To be perfectly clear, the color I like and my mother always wanted is/was gray. Not platinum, not silver - GRAY. It eluded my mom all her life and it now eludes me.

I like my gray, and I get flack from loved ones that I should dye it. have when I get bored with my natural medium brown. I prefer red. I colored it in August, now letting it grow out again. And Alice you are correct, I have not found any colorants that have made my hair silky or shiney or what ever. AND mine looks very dull, and ohhhhh the roots. Quite a bit of work to keep it up. Peeved not really, worth it (for me) No not really.

Oh I definatel agree Lacey. They were tough tough times.
I have colored my hair since I was 13. I know my roots are gray or white but not about to stop coloring my hair. I'm so used to darker hair. I do a little red every once in a while. Like an auburn.
My mom dyed her hair until she wasn't able to anymore.
I love the look of gray or white on some people. We have a neighbor that has the prettiest gray hair. Maybe someday I will just let it go or maybe not

I get my hair colored at a beauty shop. The woman adds something for shine. My roots don't look like they would be a pretty gray if I let it grow out. My sister doesn't color her hair and it is a pretty shade of gray. I love her "look."
When I was hair product shopping with my Grand daughter we found something for added shine. She loves it. Maybe you could find something like that for your shine.

I lost a lot of things while raising teens.....
My mind.
My temper.
My food.
My cheap car insurance.
And all my money.
