Default Reflections

Looking past at some of the moments of my life and they years and how they just fly by anymore. How people change, how life changes, and just everything in general.

A little bit ago I was looking at my join date. I just took a bit to think and reflect on everything.

It's really weird how much things change over the years. It still seems like it was just a few days ago we were all giving "Need_affordable_home" a hard time. And all that. And so many more differences.

Seeing how carefree I use to be and now I'm almost nothing like that anymore.

What about you? Care to reflect as well?

Looking back over the last couple of years since I joined up with you guys, I've come to realize how much you have all been here for me, even if it's just letting me vent. You laughed and smiled with me when Mom celebrated her 85th birthday, and then cried with me three days later when she passed away. You gave me strength, even if you didn't know it, when my job got cut from full time to a 1 day a week consulting position, And I know you will be there if we need you as my wife finishes up her job of 23 years due to a merger and office closing with the corresponding reduction in staff. Thanks for everything. I know that when life hands you lemons, make lemon meringue pie. It's more comforting than lemonade.

An old Chinese curse states "May you live in interesting times." Since we are in the midst of some very interesting times I understand why it is considered a curse.

My life has completely changed since first joining CD. I now live in a different state, work several jobs trying to get by, miss my friends, have more health issues and am less happy overall. On a good note, I now have two puppies that I love to pieces. When I think about the last couple of years, it just seemed to go by fast but without much progress (for me). More importantly, looking to the future I'm trying to have a positive outlook and hope the economy gets better and our president can make a positive difference in our country.

My life has certainly taken a turn for the better since joining CD. I met and married a wonderful young lady that without this site...I would never have made contact.
I've also made some terrific new friends over the last couple years that I met here.

I'd definitely agree that my life has changed for the better since being on here. There are so many people who actually care, and I have so many great friends here too. :]

It's awesome!

Even though I'm still relatively new to this site, what I glean from other people are things worth learning about, and I've seen some good things. You know, we're all learners. We're going to be for the rest of our lives. But I've seen first-hand the good impact that people have on one another's lives through the auspices of City-Data.com. You never know when you're going to make a difference, but in the end, it seems very worthwhile.

I am thankful for the opportunity to enlighten all new people moving to Orlando that they need to learn Spanish.

Wow, I was just thinking about that this past Friday (wondering how Cosmic is doing, too ..)

I joined before "Pets" was even a sub-forum. We were putting any pet questions in "Other Topics" back then.

I do know what has changed, that it's scary just how much I depend on this for information. It's ALL right here -- virtually every subject imaginable!

I look for Tek Freak's posts before buying-doing anything for the computer/electronics.... I come here for the "Real Story" because one can't really get the unbiased truths and whole stories "out there", especially from the Mainstream -- who are compensated to do so!

If not for here, I may as well be in a cave, as far as information and open-minded input on virtually everything goes. You'd have to scour a hundred different sites (and google) daily to get all the thoughts and information that is right here, compact in ONE invaluable place. Newspapers, & TV may as well be extinct. I certainly don't need 'em.

You guys have totally replaced every "pro" columnist and commentator out there. Who needs magazine articles, either? Not me! Everyone's here.

Welcome to The Information Underworld
