Last night Mrs Aks and I picked up her mother at the airport. She’ll be 91 in January and is doing very very well health wise. She’s here to visit for the holidays and to get out of the cold weather for a change. She eats well, takes good vitamins, actively reads and works puzzles to keep her mind sharp. It’ll be nice to have her here with us for a while.

It's trash pickup day, and I remembered to wheel the cart out to the curb before leaving for work.

We had been out almost every day for weeks looking for a smaller place for 'him' to rent. It had gotten quite frustrating, one reason after another, horrible place or area, too expensive, application didn't go through, etc. The other day we found the perfect apartment. In every way. To the T. In what he was looking for. He picks up the keys tomorrow. This is good timing as I wanted to be able to help him in his move before I leave, and help decorate. Now, I'm not as stressed, and neither is he. Thank you sweet Jesus for answering our prayers!!!!
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

yard cleanup work
I spent the afternoon cutting tree branches down, shrubs, and trimming bushes. I’ve got it all piled up at the curb for tomorrow when the city comes by to collect yard wastes. I didn’t think I’d get the front yard trimmed and cleaned all in one afternoon so I’m happy with that. (no for the backyard trimming )

It is a really wonderful thing when people live to a ripe old age, and are actually living a meaningful life. I am sure she will be very happy to be out of the cold weather for awhile. I love these older folks, they have so many interesting stories to tell us. My parents are in their 80's; lived through the Great Depression, and taught us to be very thankful for everything.

We are getting some well need rain in So CA. Folks that live in burned areas are keeping a "weather eye" on the storm.
Looks like it's heading east, so Phoenix and Prescott might share in this too.

Avoided getting into car accidents. One idiot had tailgated me to the point where I thought he'd kiss my bumper. If I had to stop, it would have been ugly. Why are people such jerks?
Next day, yet another imbecile made a fast exit off the freeway, swerved in front of me (just as I prepared to ease into the street's right lane), and landed in the same place I would have been. Had I not anticipated the crap-for-brains' actions, it would have been ugly. Instead, I stayed in the left lane, made a turn on the service drive, and took another route.
This is one of the many reasons why I like being alone.
