A good thing happened today! (free, county, senior, commercial)

Great news! DH's niece had her kidney transplant today and the dr. says it's working beautifully. Modern medicine. Nothing shy of a miracle.

I got a job! And not just any old job. My dream growing up was to become an eye doctor and I'm going to be working next door to an eye doctor's office, at an optical, helping with glasses related stuff! On top, one of the people I'll be working with knows sign language!

A good thing happened today. Mrs Aks and her mom went shopping together while she was visiting here. “I didn’t have to go with them”! That’s as good as life can get.

I suprised my landlord (the owner of this home) with a Christmas Gift today, she was happy, I love to see people happy and I love giving.

My mother in law is visiting (leaves tomorrow) and this morning I took some time to hookup the pc to the big flat screen tv to show her hundreds of old slides that I’ve copied over to digital images. The slides were mostly taken by her husband that had passed away years ago and the photos were from back in the 60’s era. She enjoyed seeing all the old pictures of family and friends. It’s nice to help someone enjoy the past viewing pictures and stories about events back then. One of the photos was of her shaking hands with Rose Kennedy at a party in the early 60s.

A little bird in the neighborhood is very happy right now Was on my computer and heard a BAM - knew it was a bird that hit my glass window on the front porch so I went out and saw him lying there. He was still breathing so I put him up high in the bushes where especially Shredder's brother wouldn't find him.

When I first put him there while he was breathing and head wasn't hanging (not totally upright but obviously not broken), he was very dazed and just sat there with his little feet hanging. Went out to check on him a bit later and he was holding his head up high and holding onto the branch with his feet. Next time I checked and because the wind was real strong, he had moved further down in the bush where he was more protected, holding on and looking around. Then the last time I checked, he saw me and hopped over to another branch in the bush behind it

Went back out to make sure he hadn't fallen on the ground - sure my neighbors thought I was insane looking through all the bushes LOL - but he wasn't on the ground so it appears he flew off and probably getting chewed out from his wife about watching out for glass windows
