I went to church and had a very enjoyable time. I felt a sense of peace upon parting and that is always a very good thing. Everything is well

My MIL ruined most of my Polish jokes from years ago in the 60’s. LOL and watching the tv show “All in the family” with Archie Bunker touch me a lot about being liberal / progressive back then. I still enjoy watching the reruns from time to time on cable channels if I find them.

Actually yesterday, but it was too late to post. I gave each one of my siblings and nieces and nephews a ball point pen that I made, turned from some scraps of walnut that my Dad reclaimed from some shelves in a building he was helping to renovate back in the 60s. It was kind of a remembrance for each of them of their Dad/Grandpa who passed away back in December 1988. They all seemed to be very touched and it made me feel really good.

What a special gift! My "good thing" is very mundane. I finished decorating my tree and put some wrapped gifts for my family under it. It looks beautiful and makes me smile.

I beg to differ ... There is no such thing as a "mundane" good thing.

Glad it makes you smile.

That's nice to bring some happiness and pleasure to family members who enjoy seeing the tree decorated.

I helped get my MIL packed and off to the airport to return home. She's going into the deep-freeze area of the county. She said she enjoyed the stay with Mrs Aks and I and is looking forward to coming again soon. I too am looking forward to her return visit. She always gives me great memories to rethink and she's always got a funny story about things that have happened to her. Love talking with the seniors and enjoying a little of their history.

We had a flock of Cedar Waxwings settle in our yard today......beautiful birds....I call them "flying rainbows".....

No doubt they were attracted to the 9 birdbaths we have at our wild bird refuge, as well as the seed and half loaf of bread I put out daily for our feathered friends; especially those that are migrating on their journeys.

Yesterday I was busy doing some repair work in the yard and also on the truck. Things went well and I got everything done in less time than I had expected and it was easier then I thought it would have been.
