I was able to make a purchase that was on sale and saved a bunch of money, but even better I found an additional $50 savings when I turned in my old broken no-print printer for recycling. My new purchase cost me less then I could ever imagine.

I went to an estate sale today found an oak desk that normally retails for $399.00 for only$35.00 and it looks like brand new.
And then I made my barbers day. Wished him a "Merry Christmas" and gave him a $50.00 tip and thanked him for the good service this past year. He was flaberghasted.

^^ Wow you did have a nice day getting that desk. And making the day for your barber was a good touch that was nice of you nitram to do that.

Somebody always needs to have a nice day!

Yesterday while out shopping, I found someone's bank debit card in the parking lot just out front of the store. I took it back into the shop and asked the sales clerk if he could identify if the name on the card had was a customer of theirs. He did, made a phone call and the lady's husband was coming down to pickup his wife's card. They were amazed that someone turned it in. However I couldn't help but think of the lady who lost it while shopping at other stores being so worried about where the card was. I hope her husband called her on her cell phone to let her know right away that it was found.

The freeway was empty in the early hours, I was in a hurry so I did 80+ I didn't get busted and there were no safety issues. I got to where I needed to in time. Now I don't condone speeding, but if u are as skilled a driver as Danica and u ride is empowered... Its all good

A good thing... Green Bay Packers on national TV! So often, the Pack's games are not shown in NV. Even though they're playing without their regular quarterback and are playing the Patriots, I'll enjoy watching, win or lose.

Mrs Aks found a good bargain on a new “littler” Christmas tree for the house yesterday. Now I don’t have to dig out the older one and all the decorations that have to be put on it. She saved money, I saved hours and hours of time. This is a win win.

My internet seems to be moving a little faster this morning. I reset my cable modem, router and wireless access points. Not intentionally, the power went off for about 30 seconds, so when they came back up, they were all reset.

Lightbulb Luminaries

I was able to get the luminaries ready and placed out along the front of the house and sidewalk. Every year that we’ve lived in the southwest it has been something that we do here in the neighborhood. Luminaries are a big part of the Christmas Eve in the desert areas of the southwest. A little sand or birdseed placed in a paper bag with a candle inside to help light the way. A tradition that seems to lift the Christmas spirits this time of year.
