It's amazing how different it feels to set the alarm for an 8 a.m. tee time rather than an 8 a.m. meeting. Retirement is grand!

Mrs Aks & I enjoyed breakfast out at a little neighborhood café that we don’t always get to stop by at. We also finished running errands and getting some chores completed. Great food and service with reasonable prices makes this café a good choice for us.

I met a Deaf Iranian today! He taught me how to finger spell in Persian Sign Language. I've always wanted to learn Persian Sign Language!

My good thing happened the other day, but it's quite funny looking back at it. The good thing is, we didn't get blown to pieces.
The story:
My girlfriends and I decided to go to Taco Bell for lunch. We had just received our food and sat down. I notice a man running across the street towards us, runs in the establishment and screams, 'get OUT, get out NOW, GET OUT...... the gas station next door's on fire and the place is gonna BLOW!!!'
This feeling of impending doom invades my whole body and the rest seemed liked slow motion. I grabbed my purse and started running (in my mind thinking of an explosion, glass shattering and flying through the air) my friend grabbed her food, but it went flying, out the door we go, her and her daughter gets in their car, and I keep running, past the car, and down the street. Later, I laughed and thought of: run forrest runnnnn
Anyway, we got out safely, my friends were impressed at my sprint, and we found out someone was getting gas and forgot to take the pump out and left, and toppled the pump which caught on fire. Thankfully, the fire was promptly put out and no one was hurt.
