the wow in driving today
I found my good day at the lunch hour. While driving through a commercial shopping area parking lot and getting to the exit area to drive on home, another driver coming into the area almost crashed into the side of my truck. I was just lucky enough to get missed by one or two seconds and a few feet of space. It sure put the “wow” in my “thank god” I’m not hurt or the truck damaged this morning.

Don't feel bad, Glory...I was going to ask the same thing!
I wish we could deduct stock losses, but you can't unless you sell something!

Here are pictures of my good news today. Made me feel all tingly inside. If you look close, you can see that it's double and both are complete.

Great photos and I did see the double in the third picture. Now did you find the pot of gold at one end yet?

I was driving through a packed parking lot hoping for something reasonably close, and the best spot in the parking lot opened up right in front of me.

It's so much fun reading everyone's good news here. And I think the most beneficial thing for all of us is that it encourages us all to stop long enough to take stock of each day to find the good in it; it's so easy to only focus on or think of the driver that cut us off, the co-worker who took credit for a group effort, the snarky shop assistant, that sometimes we need a poke in the ribs to remind us of what's good in life.
Let's see, what is my good news today? There's bare ground visible in my front yard for the first time in months. I saw a wee snip of green peeking out from under the drifts of leaves in my front garden bed. The water falling from the sky today was in its liquid state, not solid.
Good news at work: I made more progress on reconciling balance sheet accounts today. The week's cash inflow is roughly equal to what is needed for the projected cash outflow. The IS department corrected an inaccuracy in a report that was causing me some difficulty, and the now-accurate data resolved a variance that I had been struggling with.
Good news at home: I got home late, after 11 hours at the office, to find that my spouse had an enormous pot of home-made soup simmering gently on the stove, chock-full of potatoes, spinach, garbanzo beans and Polish sausage. Our kitty climbed me like a tree and draped himself across my shoulders like a fur ruff, purring madly all the while, and rubbed his cold, wet, whiskery nose in my ear (tickles!). Got a note in the mail from a friend we haven't heard from in a long while - he and family are doing well, were thinking of us, and dropped a note in the mail to say hello.
Just quiet things, really. Nothing big or exciting; I didn't return anyone's cell phone or debit card, didn't help a stranded traveler, nothing like that. But the tiny bright points in a grey, humdrum day are what keeps me getting up the next morning to do it all over again.
Have a good night, all. And may tomorrow bring us all a constellation of tiny bright points to share here.

Sounds like my wife's homemade beef stew that's now leftover,,,,,, it's going to get warmed up today and enjoyed even more! then the first time. However I don't have a kitty to climb all over me.
