I am all for saving the planet and saving energy yada yada yada, but checking into a motel and expecting a nice cozy environment only to turn on the lamp lights and have my eyes bombarded with light more suited to a public office building is an extremely unpleasant experience, especially when I am paying and ever increasing price for rooms. There has to better alternative. Maybe I should carry my own light bulbs.....

Lightbulb .

I agree!

Mrs Aks and I a few weeks ago had the dome cleaning lights reworked with new plastic panels and bulbs in the kitchen. After the company was finished it looked much better then the old “yellowed” (from age) plastic panels and the new fluorescent bulbs provide a very “white” light ~ unlike the old ones that we had.

Problem is there is so much light now in the kitchen it’s like being in a “suntan booth”. I talked with the electrician about it, and he said that all the bulbs were 35w and that was all they have. So I’m living with four 35watts extra white lights now. As soon as I can find a new lower wattage fluorescent I’ll change them myself.

He did tell me that they are all the new T-8 type bulbs which provide more light at a lower power rate. I’m looking for a lower wattage T-8 now.
