Today's Question(s):
Do you know if there is a street name anywhere that is the same as your last name ? (lol guess google will be getting some extra hits today )

Yes there is. It is about a mile from my house and is named after my family who lived there over 100 years ago.

Ironed something ? Years ago! (that is one of the things the DW does and doesn't let me get close to.)

Had a big steaming bowl of soup ? Yesterday for lunch.

Did something nice for yourself ? Last night, just sat quiet and watched a movie I wanted to see.

Yep, there's a street with the same last name as mine in a nearby city. But being something of a bit of a privacy nut, I'm not going to divulge what that name is, or even which city it is.

Bonus Question:

I really wish I could
play Beethoven on the piano as well as Andre Watts does.

Extra just for fun:

When was the last time you:

Mopped the floor ?

The last time it snowed. And since we just got another six inches or so last night, it'll be getting done again this afternoon, once we finish the final round of shoveling.

Ironed something ?
Oh, that's been months now. I never, ever buy all-cotton anything (well, except unmentionables that don't need ironing) and I always pull stuff out of the dryer and hang it up right away, so I won't have to iron. I think the last time I ironed anything was when the spouse was trying to do me a favor and stuffed about 2 1/2 loads' worth of clothes into a single load in the washer and dryer, and EVERYTHING came out a mass of wrinkles. He just couldn't understand why I was so irritated with him when he had been so very helpful.

Had a big steaming bowl of soup ?
Last night. Spouse made a lovely batch of smoked salmon chowder earlier in the week, too much for one meal, so we warmed it up and finished it off last night. He is much better at cooking than he is at washing clothes, by the way....

Did something nice for yourself ?
Also last night. I actually left the office before 5:00, which has not happened in longer than I can remember, came home and had a relaxing evening with my beloved.

I could not resist. I Googled and found an avenue in Salem, NJ, with my husband's last name, and a street in Charlotte (?) with my maiden name.

I will pass on the Bonus question. I am happy as God made me.

Mopped the floor?
Hmmmm....

Ironed something?
Years ago!

Big steaming bowl of soup?
This noon

Did something nice for myself?
Bought all that candy that I listed in my last ? of the day post.

I don't know of a street with my last name, but there probably is.
I wish I could understand my camera as well as my husband does.
Mopped the floor yesterday, also ate soup yesterday. I think I ironed once a few years ago. I bought myself a bunch of valentine candy for 75% off the other day.

I used the steam mop about a week ago. The bedrooms have carpet and the rest of the house has ceramic tile, and the steam mop cleans both without leaving any moisture.
My ancestry is French-Norman, and there are lots of cities, streets, and other places with my last name.

Street in Charlotte, DC, Winston-Salem, North Wilkesboro; towns in Idaho and Tennessee and a road in Idaho. That is my last name after marriage.
Maiden Name--a gap on the Blue Ridge Parkway and a road with the same name nearby that leads to a community with that name. Also a cemetery and a preserved house with that last name.

Sorry, no more time. We are going to see our people.
To answer one poster: Our people is our tax lady that knows our business better than we do. It took her an hour, it would have taken me weeks. We did good. Getting back from federal and paying state. It is so hard to get anyone to take state taxes out.

I have really enjoyed the google project today. I found a quilt in the Harnett County, NC, Library that was made in honor of one of the ancestors. I found a bridge that was designed by one family member back in the 1800's and a historic bridge made that way in Kansas and Idaho. Found another street in Fredericksburg, VA, and a lake in Florida. That DC street is actually in Alexandria, VA. I will let it rest for a little while now since I am tired of looking. There was a supreme court case. Oh, can't forget the Residence Hall at Duke University. One family member was a professor there.

Happy weekend everyone!
There are hundreds (probably 1000s) of streets w/ my name. Pretty common. Did you ever hear how certain "entertainers" names are picked? ....shhhh...

I really wish I could get and stay organized as well as everyone else does!!!

Mopped the floor ? ummm, yeah..can I answer that later?

Ironed something ? bought a fun steamer thing & I am sold!!!

Had a big steaming bowl of soup ? Mmmmm...Thursday. Chicken Florentine made by my Lebanese friend. The BEST!

Did something nice for yourself ? Yesterday - signed some tax returns...I am now in the home stretch & am over the moon about it!

Today in History:
1842 1st known sewing machine patented in U.S., John Greenough, Washington D.C. Later, women everywhere breathed a sigh of relief when the stapler became an instant hem fixer-upper!

Word of the Day:
hermetic \hur-MET-ik\, adjective:
1. closed tightly; airtight
2. obscure; magical Didn't Johnny Carson's "Carnac the Magnificent" always say the envelope was hermetically sealed?

Today is:
Single Tasking day One wonders why I can't do just that when I come into this office...hmm...because CD begs me to get distracted?
