New "Hip Tattoo" Barbie......Like or Dislike?
Just in: Buy a Barbie Doll, now with play type tattoos for kids to put on themselves or on the doll......hummmmmmm???? Some parents don't like it, while others think that it is "cool" and just the "sign of the times we now live in......girls with tattoos". But, will this doll put "thoughts" into the minds of little girls about getting real tattoos later in life?
What's do you think?

I think if you don't like it you don't buy it. We can't change everything in the world we live in. You can only do the best job you can in raising your children and then let them go.

I agree. It's up to the parents to make decisions like that. As for me, I think it's a nice update.

No way. I am definitely not a fan of tattoos or body art! I don't really care for piercings either. Yes, call me old fashioned.

Yep, me/us too! But, the parents and others who have them (tats) or like them will love this. This new Barbie also makes a statement about a large part of today's society and how it has changed from years ago. Yes, years ago Barbie was "totally HOT looking" with a ponytail sitting in a 1957 Convertible (red or pink) , but for a lot of today's kids.........
Uh oh, just revealed how old I/we are (60) !!

I agree!
This might also make kids rethink getting ink when they're older, knowing that they don't come off like they did on Barbie.
But just 'cuz some don't like tattoos, doesn't mean everybody doesn't. Not every kid wants to play with dentist Barbie.
Heck, my Barbies never wanted to date Ken either. In their eyes he was a tool. But they had no other options back then.

This is just an old idea in a new package, I remember when you could buy sheets of temporary tattoos and put them on yourself and then wash them off with soap and water, old idea in a new package...

I think that is a real "mainstream america" attempt to appeal to what they have tried to make "fashionable".
......and I hope it just fades away and doesn't come back...lol
It seems when the general public gets it's hands on things, they can't help but destroy it. Though tattoos have been around longer then any of us have been alive, the resolution of making it fashionable or trendy is like an affliction of society.
The perfect example is the "tramp stamp" term. Since when does placement have to incur a negative denotation?
Lets hope it disappears as fast as some of these other socially imposed "trends" and is forgotten by the mainstream. ...
