Why is it when you call the 811 # before you dig up the ground to prevent cutting wires and stuff that the person on the other end acts as though you're causing her trouble???

I'm sick of working out all the time and eating all this healthy low-fat crap, and yet i still can't get a girl to look at me. I might as well just spend my time sitting around watching TV, eating pizza and ice cream.

Anyway, good thread, i'll try to respond to some of the other postings.

Wow, that is ridiculous. I hear ya, food is crazy! So is gas. Walmart tho, you would think that would be better. I guess they are getting rich while we all suffer.

Working out and keeping fit are excellent lifestyle choices. I would recommend getting involved in activities/causes that are dear to you and you may find yourself meeting a lady that is like-minded. Get out there and MEET people!

Why, thank you, lpfan. Welcome. We get a lot of stress out of our systems here without hurting anyone's feelings.

Good suggestion, Chatteress.

You do know, there are chubby chasers out there, and that may be one reason certain girls haven't paid any attention to you.

Myself, I've never been attracted to that lean, fit look. Take it from the wise Europeans: some paunch is sexy! Agree 100%!

And, never forget it, a dynamic, magnetic personality can override even a big wart on the tip of your nose!

Unhappy Gruggles of life

I can’t go into details here (online) about an issue that is heartbreaking. A friend has some problems that are just overwhelming and it’s difficult for me to help out, even as much as I want to be their for them, I simply can’t do as much as needed to be of real help. This was the first day I’ve heard of the problem and I’m hoping that the issue will improve a little as time goes. A single parent raising three kids continues to struggle with little or no help from anywhere. Mrs Aks & I have been there in the past and we’ll do what we can for now, but I worry that it won’t be enough and we can only do so much.

Default Ticket Insurance rip-off!

Any of you who live in the Northeast know how the weather has been in the last 48 hours. Would you drive in the sleet, freezing rain, and several inches of snow to go to an event you had tickets to? I sure thought that is what insurance is for, you know how when you purchase tickets through Ticketmaster, they offer you insurance from a private company for $7 per ticket in case something happens and you can't make the event. Or at least what they consider to be something that prevents you from attending.

Well, we decided not to drive several hours through the storm to go to the event, and called to claim our insurance today only to be told that sleet, snow, and freezing rain isn't enough to qualify for a claim. Ticketmaster was less than helpful also, so now I guess we have been ripped off. That insurance is a total joke and waste of extra money. If one of the VERY FEW occurrences they actually do cover happens, then it might be worth it, but if you are worried about a normal problem arising that might prevent you from attending, then don't spend the extra money, because likely, you won't be covered. What a rip-off!

Aks bless you and the Mrs. for helping this young mom out we know you have been there for her & the kids. It is tough now but going to get tougher not just for single moms but all of us I'm afraid. Just do what you can and leave the rest to a higher being.

The EC I've never dealt with what you are talking about but seems to me if you can get some kind of info from your weather station they'd refund perhaps? Was there a travel advisory asking to stay off the roads?
