I've had a doctor appointment scheduled for about 2 months. They called me a couple of days ago to confirm the appointment. I arranged my schedule so that I would be able to go to this doctor appointment. The appointment was a much needed one. It was scheduled for 10:20 a.m. today. I showed up at 10:00 a.m. The lady at the desk told me I was late - that my appointment was at 9:45 a.m., and that they wouldn't be able to see me today. I told her my appointment was at 10:20, and that the card given to me also says 10:20. She looked at me like I was lying. So she scheduled an appointment for another 2 months from now.

I'm fuming! I'm getting really tired of completely incompetent people. But worse - I didn't bring the card with me to the appointment to prove my appointment was at 10:20! I am sitting here staring at the card right now, and I'm getting more and more pissed off by the second!

Moral of the story --- always keep your appointment cards (for everything!) and bring them with you to your appointment(s) so you have proof you are right. If I had time, I'd drive over there and bring my card with me to prove I was there on time and they screwed up!

This is ruining my day!!!
Twinke Toes, I'm so very sorry that happened to you. I am floored that they would not put you on the list so that they could get you in earlier. You are so right....that is why you never forget to bring your appt. card with you. They DO make mistakes....fill out the darn card and forget to put it in the books/system. Ridiculous! especially since you can't get in for 2 months.

Honestly...if it's not too far to the office, you should try to find the time to go down there and slap that appt. card down on the desk. If you can't do it today, I'd FIND the time....OR fax it to their office. I would also let them know that if they can't handle their business any better than that, then I would be looking for another doctor. People make mistakes, but because it was THEIR mistake, they should (upon proof of their error), be busting their hineys trying to get you in ASAP......NOT in 2 months!

I gotta agree with ya beachmel, especially about getting Twinkle Toes in sooner then 2 months! Heck, they should of made some effort and squeezed her in that same day IMO.

I absolutely agree! In fact, I would have telephoned the office as soon as I got home, let them know that I was standing there with my appointment card in my HAND, that it SAID 10:20 am that I was going to file a complaint if I was not squeezed in TODAY, and AT that time, I would personally SHOW them, in their own WRITING that they had made an error. Way too often (and I'm IN the medical profession), these people forget who they're working for!

Thanks, you guys. I didn't have time to do it today, but I am definitely going over there in the morning with my card. Problem is, this is a specialty doctor I was referred to from my primary doctor (I have Kaiser) so as much as I'd love to tell them to "pound sand", I need the appointment. I'll do my best to keep my cool, but try to finagle a sooner appointment. It isn't fair that I've waited this long, looked forward to the appointment, showed up 20 minutes early, only to be told I was late and "see ya in 2 months"! Yeah, I'm still pissed off about it - and it's 10:30 at night now!!!

Yes, I know that was my way of being kind and gentle in delivering my purely subjective opinion so as not to offend the delicacy of anyone if that is possible cause I don't like to be offensive. I am an agreeable chick. I believe in unity, love, peace tolerance and sometimes standing up for when u have been unjustly accused. I mean can't we all just get along and respect each other enough to disagree and still be loving toward or fellow people? Yeah I know I am rambling on a bit and I apologize for it. But this is the vent thread And I am glad we have one today.

I had the Qwest teleco out to fix the main line last week (it’s intermittent trouble) because people calling me couldn’t be through and their calls were routed to a recorded message. Last week they said they fixed it. This week the 2nd line is now ringing and no one is there. I have another repairmen scheduled to stop out today and fix the problem. It’s sure to be interesting dealing with him/her and I’m looking forward to seeing them.
