Progress is being steadily advanced in controlling these Noise Terrorists, all across the country, you need to be patient, as eventually they will be "fined" out of existence. Tune in to NoisefreeAmerica or Noiseoff and you'll see the progress being made, with fines up to $3000 in some communities now for loud stereo's in cars, plus impoundment of the vehicle in Chicago and/or confiscation of their stereo equipment.

If you see one of these Noise machines parked somewhere in your neighborhood somewhere, late at night, use your creativity and imagination, and watch them flee your neighborhood!

No guts, no glory!!!

Speaking of Noise, I'm getting so-so-so tired of these police helicopters flying around my neighborhood, late at night.

I look at the crime map, for my neighborhod, every Tuesday in the paper. I see the green squares all over the place, indicating drug arrests. I sure hope to God they're not disturbing everybody at night, making some rinky-dink drug arrests.

What an exercise in futility, and the price of sacrificing our peace & quiet!

We have the same thing here with drug arrests. The TV News had some guy on the
other night boasting about 8 members of a family jailed for selling drugs in Manchester.
The next item was about people in the same area fighting to fill the void caused by this
families jailing!! It is a total waste of time, money and effort. These government agencies
all over the world have maassive taxpayer funded budgets fighting drugs. It reminds me in
many ways of the fight against alcohol supply in America in the 20s. All that happened was
criminals got rich. Same thing now, but with drugs. It's a dirty business, but common sense
says people demand these drugs, and criminals supply. It should be controlled by governments, taxed, and made sure the drugs are good quality and not mixed with the stuff
used now. Agenc

I'll continue!! Agencies all over the world now, with their massive drug fighting budgets,
have a vested interest in these problems continuing - their salaries depend on it!! I really
don't get how it has been allowed to continue all these years. We have people being
mugged and burgled by these people to fund their addiction. Our jails are full of them. No
one seems to seriously consider legalising these drugs, so we continue to criminalise users.
I know people see this as a horrible business, and it is, but fighting it is at too big a cost.
It needs serious thought by agencies all over the world how to legalise it, control it, and
keep the criminals out of it.

^^^ I’m a progressive, when things are not working well and we continue to do it over and over it’s TIME to make a change. Dave’s thoughts above are typical of government failures in their abilities to stop drug crime, and their continued waste of money and resources to do the SAME thing over and over without improvement. Surely there is a better way to deal with drugs as a crime? It’s just that no one wants to make a change or take the time to consider what other steps might work better.

Doing the same thing that doesn’t work is stupid and costly! Time to fix the problem and move on.

Many years ago, when the fight against drugs by governments all over the world began,
I was all for it. I totally don't understand the use of drugs like heroin. But, this drug in
particular seems to hit the spot for addicts from Pakistan to here or the USA. Who are we,
as represented by our governments, to tell people they can't do it, and jail them for using
them? It's just crazy. We have drug mules from countries all over the world in our jails - why?
We continue to fight this losing battle at great expense. Nobody in their right minds today
would try to make alcohol illegal, the consequences would be just the same as making drugs
illegal. Yet alcohol abuse causes major problems, far more than drug abuse. The battle is lost,
all we can do is try to control it in a manner like alcohol.

I have a good peeve/vent this morning. I woke up to the sounds of lots of trucks, then loud digging and guys working. The City has closed the street while they dig up the pipes in allot of front yards. Now I know it may be necessary, but had all week. Why pay overtime for Saturday work and if it must be so why start at 5:45 AM -they really started before that, but that is the time I decided I can't sleep due to the noise and got up. Now typically I would be up anyway, but this morning I wasn't and the noise is so loud and rattling. Oh well another day in the life...

I'm pretty sure it was an emergency situation that caused them to be digging a 5:45 on a Saturday morning. My suggestion is to take a deep breath, relax, and be glad there are people who are willing to get up at that time and fix your water lines (before things get worse) so you don't end up being without water all weekend.

Sorry, I am not of the opinion that we should make something legal just because there are so many people doing it. I don't think the drug dealers are going to suddenly say "Oh good, this is legal now. We will just fill out the forms and send our tax check to the government." The illegal meth labs will still be around where people will still make their own drugs from regular "LEGAL" substances, all the while contaminating their (usually) rented properties with toxic residue to harm the next occupants. I would much prefer that the authorities keep working on this problem. As to comparing it to alcohol, I don't use that either, but I don't consider the two issues to be equal.
