Naw he is just trying to get that hot off the press smell & feel.

I quit home delivery a few years ago because they would miss us so much. Couldn't keep rural carriers so pay to read it online now.

What gripes me is that our paper has an online edition, password secured, of course, and they offer the password FREE to their paid, print subscribers. We have been paid subscribers for over 20 years, ever since our oldest son took on a route, but since we pay our carrier instead of sending payment to the office, we don't qualify for the free password. When I called about it they said we should just send the payment to them. I said we wanted to pay the carrier because it helps teach them business skills if they have to do their own recordkeeping, and besides, we like to give them a little extra each month because they bring the paper up and put it on the porch right by the front door, many times even laying it on the threshold. They said we could still send them the money and the extra would just get credited to their account and subtracted from their total bill. I told them that is not the point. I want to talk with them every month, and I want their tip to go right into their pocket. I guess we will just read the print edition.

Someone's dog is visiting my front yard "AGAIN" and leaving things behind! If I catch the person or dog ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I don't know if I'll be able to speak calmly about THEIR issue.

Today I am going to vent about women, cause I am a woman and I respect women so it is really not a slam on women. I realized something about myself. I am territorial and maybe a little overprotective and I think the reasons correlate with being woman or possibly the mother of a son. I am really non-confrontational. I will go way out of my way to try to keep the peace usually, but my son and I went to the gym together. Now he is about 6.2 or 3, maybe 170 pounds, muscular body, and packing all man if u get my drift, but he is really just a good look kid in a man's body. Dumb as a bag of nails when it comes to girls. I am doing my thing and out of the corner of my eye- I spy this young girl measuring him and feeling him up as she does it. Every thing in me screamed "stop hussy before I snatch u bald!" I had to immediately check myself. I realized just how strong that protective instinct is. Of course I just ignored the whole incident , but I didn't know I had that in me. No wonder there is inherent distrust between mother in laws and daughter in laws. I think it is the mother's instinct to protect... I am sure a lot of women get along well with their mother in laws so I not implying all women. I am sure this girl is too old for my son- a point I made sure I stressed when we were driving home. So I am venting about myself. I am not sure if it is a character flaw or just mothering a little too much. I just didn't know I have the potential to do some chic bodily harm over feel by boy up. U see how territorial I am

SQ, I am the mom of adult sons....i think you reacted exactly as I would have reacted. We never 'outgrow' our mothering instinct..you mess with my kid, you mess with me. Even now.

We have that here too...we can never catch them...in our old neighborhood we had an old fart who walked his two little yappy dogs (now I like all dogs, this guy was a retired cop, just would expect him with a german shepherd, lol) any way, never leashed and he always carried a plastic bag with him for their, er, droppings. We used to watch this guy with amazement. the dogs would do their dooty, he would bend over and PRETEND to pick it up. every single time. amazing. before we moved, we let him have it...just poor manners and tacky and a nasty person to boot. there I vented.!

Having to get up early for an appointment! Not my idea of starting the day off.

I have a good one. I went to the market in a good relatively pleasant mood. I had my shopping list and I was determined to stick to it pretty much. I happen to be in the meat section and I guess I looked like I needed help. I saw a man who worked at the store stick his hand so for up his own rear and apparently scratch for gold and then turn to me and ask me if I needed his help. I was so out done, I replied can u only help me with the hand u didn't stick up ur *ss. Thanks but no thanks. How gross and in the meat section too. Needless to say I purchased more veggies.
