What's the most daring thing you have ever done ?

Drove home from work through Hurricane Floyd because I heard panic in the voices of my wife and kids and didn't want them to be there without me. Daring? Yes. Stupid? Yes. Will I ever do it again? No chance! Took almost two hours on absolutely empty roads and was almost washed out twice on hills that had become waterfalls!

Do you have a corkscrew in your home ?

Yes - and can remove in one piece.

When was the last time you "flew a kite"

It's been years.

What "Quirky" title would you come up with for a "Country Song"

Whatever I came up with, there couldn't be anything quirkier than these real ones:

"How Can You Believe Me When I Say I Love You, When You Know I've Been A Liar All My Life?"

"I Changed Her Oil, She Changed My Life."

"I Got Tears In My Ears From Lying On My Bed Crying On My Pillow Over You."

"You Were Only A Splinter As I Slid Down The Banister Of Life"

... and the ever popular, "My John Deere Was Breaking Your Field, While Your Dear John Was Breaking My Heart".

Today's Question(s):

What's the most daring thing you have ever done? Walked to the edge of "alligator back" in Doughton Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway. When I looked out and just saw air and realized if I stubbed my toe and fell it would be about 80 feet down a rocky cliff, I got down on my hands and feet and crawled off the edge.

Bonus Question:

What was for breakfast today? Black coffee and banana

Extra Credit Question:

Do you have a corkscrew in your home? I don't think so.

Are you able to remove the cork in one piece or do you have "cork removal issues?" ?#$*??

Just for fun :

When was the last time you "flew a kite?" It has been years, but I love to fly a kite.

What "Quirky" title would you come up with for a "Country Song" "Her love was like a sore during Dog days."

Paella: Yay or Nay I would have to look that up and I don't have time right now.

Karla, your front door looks excellent and your house and landscape looks beautiful from what I could see in the pic?

Daring??

Breakfast?
soft boiled eggs

Paella? I don't even know what it is! Maybe we don't do "paella" in Texas!

Happy Friday, everone! Have a great week-end!

Good morning!
What was the most daring thing you've ever done? Just thought of one, not really daring but kinda funny. In my first varsity basketball game I tried a hook shot from the three point line. And it went down! The weird thing was I was on a fast break and no one was behind me.

What was for breakfast today? Cream of wheat, rye toast, orange juice, and coffee. Yums!

Extra credit question: Do you have a corkscrew in your home? Yes

Are you able to remove the cork in one piece or do you have "cork removal" issues? I'm good with it 2 out of 3 times.

When was the last time you flew a kite? Way back in the dark ages! I'm guessing 45 years ago.

What "Quirky" title would you pick for a "country song". " Well, my favorite quirky song is Roger Miller's "You Can't Roller Skate In A Buffalo Herd.". So how about "You can't fly coast to coast on a three wheeled unicycle?"........................................ .......................sorry!

Paella-yay or nay? Yay.

Have a great weekend!

Karla, Mr. VA said the most daring thing I have ever done was marry him. I guess that is true since we are always on an adventure somewhere. That little trip up alligator back was when we were on a date. I don't think I could make it up the trail, let alone go to the edge, anymore. There have been lots more adventures, but that is the one that came to mind. We had an interesting vacation in Colorado year before last. He is right. I am a safety person who is trying to keep up with 007. LOL

I guess the most daring thing I did was move to Sedona AZ without knowing a soul. I lived in NY all my life and wanted some place different. Best move I've ever made.

Breakfast will be yogurt and walnuts. Coffee.

Yes to the cork screw. Sometimes I cork the screw other times I say "screw the cork." That line can count as my country song too.

It has been years since I flew a kite.

Nice clean doors Karla. Have fun with your new friends in Fl.

Today's Question(s):

What's the most daring thing you have ever done ?
Driving my Studebaker from 0-135MPH in less than 10 sec

Bonus Question:

What was for breakfast today ?
Inspired by MBW I think I'll have hashbrowns, sausage and eggs.

Extra Credit Question:

Do you have a corkscrew in your home ?
Don't know.

Are you able to remove the cork in one piece or do you have "cork removal issues" ?
Since I don't know if I have a corkscrew I guess I would have issues.

Just for fun :

When was the last time you "flew a kite"

What "Quirky" title would you come up with for a "Country Song"
I've got a tear in my beer from crying over you.
Or how about. I can't pull a cork, I can't fly a kite. So turn out the light and love me.

Paella: Yay or Nay

Sounded good until I Googled it and found out it has nothing to do with pie.

Today in History:
1790 - The shoelace invented
1794 - U.S. Navy forms
1860 - The device which, officially, is a “covered gimlet screw with a ‘T’ handle”, or corkscrew, was patented this day.
1866 - The urinal was invented and patented by Andrew Rankin
1914 - 1st successful blood transfusion (in Brussels) If the tube coming out of your arm breaks is it a Brussels sprout?

Word of the Day:

feckless \FEK-lis\, adjective:
1. Ineffective; having no real worth or purpose.
2. Worthless; irresponsible; generally incompetent and ineffectual.

Today is:
National Spanish Paella Day
Corkscrew Day
Go Fly A Kite Day
Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day
National "Joe" Day. Everyone who hates their name can be called Joe this day[/quote]
