I've always supported the theory that people who kill other people probably started out torturing innocent animals . And the laws should be changed so that anyone who abuses an animal should suffer severe consequences so that they do not go onto harm children or adults!

Both of my pups came from the Humane Society.
I won't ever go to a "store" to buy a pet.

How can any human be so cruel? But then again, they do it to children so maybe the "human" part is what's lacking. That poor girl -- she'll probably have nightmares for years.

My little one is a rescue - not from a shelter, but a lady in a nearby town found her wandering around, hungry and with a horrible fleabite dermatitis. Ads didn't bring in the owners so we asked if we could have her. She stole our hearts. Well, she's not only allergic to flea bites, but lots of other inhalants. Spoiled rotten, has special foods, and costs more in medical bills than I have for myself! But she's smart and good and so precious!

I really just cannot imagine. I could say "Oh I could imagine". But I cannot. I love my dogs ssoooo much! I have only lost 3 to old age and all dog lovers know how hard that is. No less such a terrible situation. Just unthinkable. I saw the story but could not read it because I can't ever get it out of my head then.

I have rescues as well as a store bought. I don't normally advocate that but it was love at first sight. Like FL TN Nana, she is allergic to many things and I have spent into the thousands now on vet bills. She is doing better with the allergies. At first the vet put her on 3 weeks or steroids because it was so bad. Came on real quick at only 3 months old. I refuse to give her any more steroids.

Ugh... I get tears in my eyes reading this story.

I am speechless. I don't know how I'd live after seeing one of my furry family members like that. What I do know is that after my heart stopped breaking so much that I could actually stand on two feet without collapsing, the "hunter" of my dog would become the hunted.

Whoever did that should be locked up and the key should be thrown away. Sick and twisted individual.

I read somewhere once that kids who abuse and torture animals are likely to become serial killers, I think it was a medical magazine but I'm not sure. There are a lot of sicko's in this world. If someone did something like that to one of my dogs I would never stop looking until I found that person.

It is a trait. Jeffrey Dahmer being one example.
