Today's Happy 02 April 2009
Lunch with friends!
Well, lunch hasn't occured yet today, but who ever said that what makes me happy today has to HAPPEN today?
Isn't it a joy to meet with people who are glad to see you and to feel welcome?! That's how I felt when I met some friends for lunch who I hadn't seen in a couple of months.
It sure is nice to catch up.
What made you happy, no matter what day it happened?

I got home last night while it was still light out, and discovered a few more little green shoots valiantly struggling up through the dirt of my front garden bed, in spite of the cold weather we're having! I'm excited - I planted about three dozen bulbs last fall, and it looks like most of them survived the winter and are going to provide a riot of color in a few more weeks. I love nearly all flowers, but my favorites of all are the early blooms of spring, the harbingers of the warmth to come.

Last night after picking up my kids from AWANA at church I decided to take them out for a snack at our local Culver's. They were ecstatic when I said we could eat inside. Just the three of us and it was a great memory-making moment.

I bought some spring flowers on my lunch yesterday.
When I came home, I put the bright purple & yellow pansies on the front step (for now). & the pink geraniums each on their own step. It looked so bright & cheerful in the damp rain-it made me happy.

Oh, that sounds so awesome! If I put flowers outside they'd freeze! Should get some tulips to put in the kitchen to brighten it up. It is after all my office too! Maybe I could write them off as a business expense!

Lunch with friends is a cool thing, bjh ! I don't get to do it very often, but we sure have fun when we do! The hour goes by too fast, though ! We usually go to this awesome oriental restaurant, and it is really funny, because none of us go there any other time, except when we have lunch together ! I guess that makes it kind of special!
My happy today is - Morelle mushrooms and wildflowers ! We have both of them growing on our property right now, and my kids are picking them daily !

Mine today is that DS had a "exceptional day today and should receive lots of praise" according to both his regular and special ed teachers. What a relief since last week was terribly difficult. Now we just have our first soccer practice of the season...if that goes well, I'll say it's been a perfect day.
