Default What's your philosophy of/on life?

What is it?

Do you live it? How so?

I am pondering change, happiness, and this idea of "following your bliss." How do you discover what your bliss is? How do you go about discovering or deciding what to do with your life? How do you lead a more mindful, spiritual, and happy life?

How do you motivate yourself to do the necessary things to achieve your personal goals? Why aren't all the steps to achieve your goals enjoyable? If they aren't, should that tell you something? Or, is that just life? ????

I believe.........
you control your own destiny.
always do the right thing even if it's the harder thing to do.
don't blame others for your stupid decisions.
live for today and not in the past.
show love as much as possible.
don't judge people based on almost anything.

Motto: Have fun as much as possible and don't mess with my music or my food.

As far as goals...
stay positive and don't let others bring me down.
as said before, have fun!

This is something I believe to be important also. One thing I have noticed is when you start to feel stronger/want to make a change- there are many naysayers. GO WITH YOUR OWN INSTINCT.

Also life is short. I wont say make your own rules (not always) but anyone thinking that they need to follow some set pattern- usually ends up unhappy. I have a friend afraid to leave NY and her abusive husband. Her life is horrible- and she will never change.

I try to be honest with myself about how I feel. I know I hate where I am living now- and will eventuallly make a drastic change.

Good luck whatever you decide.

sunny

Life is tough. If you want the easy way you'll never get anything done. I've also found that you can plan all you want and something out of your control can bring the whole thing tumbling down no matter how hard you try to fight it.

The best thing to do is stop right now where you are and look around you. Measure the things that make you happy and don't forget the very smallest of things. Then look at those that are unbearable. If the later outweigh in importance the former then you need to make changes. This means adding more good things and eliminating the bad ones, if possible.

I don't think we are meant to suffer interminaly, but we do have to strive in order to accomplish things. What those things are can only be determined by our own personhood. Underneath it all, I think most have some inkling of what is attractive to them.

Other than taking responsibility, I follow the other posters and think adding as much enjoyment to your life is the best possible reward.

Mine is a line from a song:

We're here for a good time, not a long time.

I love all of your responses so far...I think articulating what your philosophy on life is can be difficult, but necessary...I need to write mine down and then live it--you all have given me such wonderful ideas. Keep them coming!

Line from the song aside, I live my life regretting nothing. Everything that i've done up to this point in my life, good and bad, has made me the person that I am today. And I like me!

I don't waste time thinking about the past because I can't change it and I don't worry about the future because that will be here soon enough. I live for the here and now because like the saying goes, tomorrow isn't guaranteed to anyone.

When my time comes, I don't want to be watching the movie of my life going playing before me thinking that I should have done this or that. I just do it now. Still have to go bungee jumping...............

I am a happy person I wake up pretty much ready to go.
Someone once asked how I could be so happy in the morning I told them
"I wake up, get out of bed, stand up and don't fall down. Hey, it's going to be a great day."

I live by the motto "life is to short to worry about the mistakes you made in the past, learn from them, then let them go. I don't want to be 80 years old and say "I wish I had ........"
