Many years ago, when my DH would ask me to buy a certain part for any of our construction equipment, I learned to either ask him to show me what he meant or write it down. Over the years I've finally learned a few things.  I'm not a mind reader....

I love tools but there are still a ton that I have no idea what they are. But it so cool when I learn about a new one and get to use it. Tools make life so much easier.
If I have to buy one and I don't know what it is at least I know what the job is that needs to be done. I'm also always willing to learn. That seems to help from being laughed at, lol.
My DH has taught me a ton about tools and he is very patient considering I am a mechanical klutz.
