Lets say you "hypothetically" use drugs
assuming that, do you feel bad in any way about the lives that are lost for you to get your drugs?
hypothetically?

Anytime that something bad is being done and it affects others it’s not a good thing to be doing. Druggies are causing many of today’s problems in this country for others who have nothing to do with using it.

There are plenty of legal drugs abused, too. Such as nicotine. The guy in the link is the son of an alcoholic father.
Then there is the American pharmaceutical industry, which, in the name of obscene profit, pretty much does whatever it wants.
I know there is wretched, horrible violence and abuse that has occurred because of crack, meth, and marijuana.
I do not excuse it.
However, in their own way, the CEOs of health insurance and pharmaceutical companies have a lot to answer for.
I don't know how some of those people sleep at night.
Perhaps if we could fix our economy, fewer people would be over-medicating themselves.
From the link:
Survey after survey shows the vast scope of illegal drug use — deep-rooted in all regions, among all races and socio-economic groups.
Talking about meth abuse in the heartland:
Here they live in crummy little houses, in towns that are dying ... and along comes a drug that provides a great rush," he said. "You can't separate drug problems from the broader matrix of social and personal problems. You can't have a drug policy that works unless it's part of a much broader social policy."

Assuming you mean illegal drugs then no I don't care.
People make choices in life and need to be held accountable for the consequences of their decisions.
Nobody makes anybody take the 1st toke, swallow the 1st pill, or take the 1st hit.

Granny, I think Crystalblue was referring to the innocent lives lost in the drug wars which illicit drug users fuel.

Illegal drugs, manufacturing illegal drugs and Dr. shopping are our biggest problem..I never could understand why anyone would take the chance of altering their thought process, or taking the chance of harming themselves or others ...Just makes no sense...

I agree with you Aksarben. I never used drugs in my life, took one hit out of a joint one time when I was 17, and I didn't like the reaction I got, so I put an end to it right there and then, before I started down that path, and thank God for that!
Too many bad things WILL happen when people find solutions to their problems by using drugs, and over using alcohol, and what's worse, there are plenty of places they can go to seek solutions and overcome their addictions, but many won't do that.

I agree with Granny Sue that it's too broad a question. Are we talking legal or illegal drugs? Alcohol, pot, "harder" drugs?
Pretty much any of it can cause problems for more than just the immediate user. Big, unforgivable problems. On the other hand, I don't have an issue with a productive member of society growing his own pot, smoking it in the privacy of his own home (or with friends), and just chillin (as opposed to driving or using equipment that could hurt someone).

Innocents are killed in these drug wars. It would be awesome if it was only the drug dealers that suffered but that is not the case.
I have NO sympathy for those that sell and distribute drugs, if they get shot, tortured whatever, they earned it. These druggies take over entire towns making the lives of people who are not involved unlivable. Thats not too mention the law enforcement who risk their lives trying to stop this problem.
