Default Cigar Smokers?

Hey anyone have any ideas to share for a new cigar smoker tips? I have always heard you need to be in a quiet place and have a good brandy by your side
to really enjoy the art of smoking a cigar. Any tips on humidors or brands of cigars ?

What is the best way to enjoy a great cigar and what is a great cigar?

Can I find a good cigar under 15$???

Cigar smoker trips: Don’t buy them in the first place and save your money. If you do buy one, smoke it outside where the wind will blow the smoke away from the rest of the community and others. Nothing you smoke has any value or benefit so why do it?

WOW issues?

First, off I smoke less than 12 a year I think my budget can handle that/

second, smoke it outside...DUH why would I want to smoke it in a room with no ventilation?

third, nothing you smoke has any value or benefit so why do it?

A: then with that attitude why do anything? why drink coffee or soda or chips or go to a movie theater ?

ever heard of pleasure? or recreational activities. People who smoke cigar don't do it b/c their hooked and can't stop and they don't smoke a pack a week. It's a thing you do once a month with the guys out on the golf course or on a boat enjoying the peace. Maybe once a week it's a sub-culture thing.

If you don't like cigar smoke, here's a hint...don't go into a cigar bar.

Good Day Sir!

I guess I just thought they were rather obvious and you did come off as a huge anti smoker which I am also but once in a while I like to enjoy a cigar.

For those considering starting smoking anything, if you'd like some description of the two different chemotherapies that I am currently experiencing, including the wonderful side effects, please feel free to ask me. Perhaps you can find a good brandy with which to read the details.

And no - aside from a few days in my teenage years forty years ago - I'm not a smoker.

Nothing that I said in the original post of tips would have indicated that I was a huge anti smoker (as you pointed out) however for reference I did smoke and stopped years ago. I at times smoked a cigar but not regularly and looking back I’m ashamed that I ever smoked near other people. I didn’t need to spend any money for tobacco and it would have served a better use if spent on other things or simply saved over the years. So yes today I am a very big anti smoker when it’s in public areas. Anyone who wants to enjoy (if that’s a good word to use here) smoking should do so if it doesn’t affect anyone else. Your right to smoke ends when it comes into contact with my nose. [my personal opinion]

So what part of smoking a cigar 12 times a year is enjoyable? You said you’re also a huge anti smoker ~ I don’t understand. You can’t have it both ways, you’re a smoker or you’re not a smoker.

On topic with the issue of smoking here’s a tip that you asked for. If you want to smoke then buy organic (if there is such a thing) tobacco products. Smoking wasn’t as harmful in the early days of this nation because it was grown without all of the chemicals and pesticides that were used to produce today’s tobacco crops. Also if it’s homegrown you don’t have the tobacco industry “adding” other chemicals that are harmful to individuals to the products to keep the smoker addicted to the tobacco. Check the list of chemicals added to smoking tobacco before you “enjoy” one.

Many industries add chemicals that are unfavorable to their products for the consumer to put in their body, however we have a choice of what we consume and everything affects our health one way or the other. Tobacco products have zero health benefits and are totally unnecessary for us.

And finally smoking in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s was something that was just done at the time for different reasons. Today smoking isn’t a socially accepted any longer in public areas. Most people have one or more reasons as to why isn’t not acceptable. And yes people have right to smoking but again those rights end when the smoke comes in contact with someone else’s nose. I will move my nose if needed but it doesn’t change the fact that smoking isn’t socially acceptable nor healthy to do so.

Forgive me if I’ve angered you but these are simply the facts and opinions that I personally have as well as many others. Tips on becoming a new cigar smoker that was asked are simply “enjoy it elsewhere and not in public”, “save your money or give it to charity instead”, and have better health issues in your life by not smoking.

I hate cigarette smoke and smoking but I enjoy a good cigar every now and then. I haven't had a cigar in 3 months and insurance wise they don't consider me a smoker. It's more than 12 then your insurance rates double, so I only smoke at most 12 a year no more and not every month. I'm a very rare cigar smoker I guess you could call me. If I go to the beach and someone is smoking I move I don't hold rally's to ban smoking in private business like some have done here in WI/Milwaukee.

You can always enjoy a cigar each afternoon on the veranda while having some relaxing time. Also a great cigar are those which doesn't have too much nicotine content on them.

Default cigars

Smoking a cigar can be extremely relaxing and enjoyable, as long as you don't have any rude, rabid anti-smokers around who have nothing better to do than ruin someone else's fun.

As long as you don't smoke in other people's homes or cars, there should be no problem. We have rights as well, and they have to suck it up and accept it. This is still America.

If you get a glass of port, and find a quiet patio or veranda, sit and relax with your cigar. There might be some decent cigar bars or clubs in your area that have good ventilation, and a relaxing atmosphere. You can get very good cigars for under $15.00. Ask your tabbaconist.

Let the grumps mind their own business and enjoy your cigar.
