Sorry to have to do this to you, Dbl-r, but this was my breakfast this morning:

An individual ramekin of egg strata casserole, composed of egg, toasted chunks of bread, crimini mushrooms, gruyere cheese and pesto.

Small red potatoes cut in quarters, tossed in olive oil, sprinkled with salt, pepper and paprika and oven-roasted to tender perfection.

A slice of dead-ripe canteloupe, intoxicatingly sweet.

Several cups of strong coffee with half-n-half.

There have been days when I have broken my fast with cold pizza and day-old coffee, but today was not one of them.

I actually like cold pizza for breakfast. The only thing I miss about having teenagers around all the time is my diminished supply of cold pizza.

Left-over pizza and beer was the norm for my mother back in the air force for breakfast.

Mine today was a bacon crossiant and a glazed donut. Added a mountain dew for energy.
