It is slightly depressing that us older mature people- who were products of the 60s and 70s..who wanted to save the world- might just give up at this stage of the game---I will keep going --- if all of you will---- Freedom!- REAL freedom/

Why do I feel like Brave Heart- minus the sad ending----------NEVER GIVE UP- NEVER GIVE IN- AND NEVER SUBMIT TO DEFEAT AND THE POWER OF IGNORANCE.

Actually I feel like one of the Blues Brother - putting the old band back together...and of course 'We are on a mission from God"...

We have not lost the fight- our duty is to keep breathing....by doing so we will out live all the fools who try to make the world miserable....Besides - I sure would like to get a hot 75 year old when I am 126....*

Even if your knees don't hurt and you can still walk good, when you go downstairs your knees feel like they are going to collapse on you. That's where I'm at and have been for about 8-9 years. I hold tight to the railing when I go downstairs.

Today, that is a weeks worth of groceries!

Nomadicus, I'm sure it looks better around your middle than mine.

Some of our local ice cream parlors still have real milk shakes in the Bay area but I usually make fruit smoothies instead as the sugar gives me the jitters at my age.

One of my favorites used to be ice cream, rootbeer and lots of chocolate sauce in a big cold glass.

One of my favorite candy bars was Oh Henry! Someone is making them now but they aren't the same.

The guys always failed the typing test...cos it would not be cool too pass it...just was not manly- but even though I never passed my typing exam- I knew how to type....It was about speed back then...how fast and accurate you could be.

Up here in the north we had an ointment called Ozinol and another called Mecca..You were either an Ozinol family or a Mecca family...You know you are really old if you remember your land line being a "party line"....the kids are astounded when I explain that five or six residences shared the same phone line...If a neighbor was talking to long you would say "Mildred...I need to call Mary..how much longer are you going to be?"

What was different back then, is that you could pick up the phone and listen in to others if you wanted too..but people had ethics back then- They simply would never do such a thing.
