I sometimes stare in awe at how strong some of the younger women of today are. Yesterday, while checking out at Walmart, the clerk, who was a tall young woman--early 20's, and big, zaftig--picked up my 13.5 lb. bag of cat food with one hand, lifted it up like it was a bag of potato chips to scan it. I mean her hand and elbow was at shoulder level. I just stared at her. Couldn't believe my eyes. When I carry it into the house, I have it under an arm, balanced against my hip and still find it heavy.
Same to you Heidi. Time to sign off, it's just gone 7pm. Judy's hand is cupped in the air. That means she wants a vodka and lemonade putting in it. Not quite sure when I went from army loverboy, to barman.....
You know you are getting old when you take threads like this one seriously. Found myself reading the comments and felt like I belonged to some sort of special club...That I was perusing through the musings of "my people"- That those of us who have put in our time on the planet...actually have an understanding and one thing in common- WISDOM...
Youth is truly wasted on the young. Could you imagine if we could all be 22 again and have our present wisdom- why we would be dangerous- super heroic beings..The only comfort in getting old is realizing that human reproductive parts do not age--- at least as God removed youthful pleasure through time- He showed mercy and left us with the ability to still have sex....odd- sex strictly for pleasure...
You know you are getting old when pert breasts are not important..
^^^ I read somewhere years ago, a good test for a pert breast is seeing if you put a pencil underneath it. If it stays in place, not pert! I said to Judy, "do you think you'd pass or fail kitten?" She replied, "I could hold a whole pencil case under one of mine."
OO I have a good one... I was at the park the other day and we were walking a big group of us when we came to a high heel I hesitated, looked around to see if there was any other way I walked, but I seen a time when I would not have hesitated going up or down a steep path. Maybe it's a sign
