Today's Pet peeve 17 July 09
Yeah, this is early, but better early than late.
People who do not understand the following two sentences say the same thing and with the same amount of alarm:
The house is on fire and there are people in there!
The house is on fire and there are people in there!!!
The house is on fire and there are people in there!!!!!!
Really folks, one exclamation point is sufficient
Do I make myself crystal clear?!?!?!?!?!?

Two, three, the question of sentence count has gone the way of the disallowed exclamation points and bolding used for emphasis. {sigh}
The real problem as I see it is that it takes longer to read the sentences with all the extra junk so the act of rescuing the people in the fire is slowed downed. Not good.

I love to emphasize with the !!! at the end of my words or statement............and I'm just now getting into the pause thing with periods!!! I'll prolly never quit it, cuz I'm just an animated folk that way!!!
